Went for one night with Fiance we had an excellent meal food was amazing and the portions very substantial. The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable nothing was too much trouble for the staff and breakfast was very filling and good quality produce all in all would highly recommend to anyone. We will be going back very soon.

We have just enjoyed a superb evening at the miners arms. It has a really pleasant and lively atmosphere. The staff were all impeccable, charming, attentive, friendly and fun to chat to. The menu was comprehensive and the food absolutely delicious, pipping hot and generous. We enjoyed every moment thank you for a great night.

This is all that a country pub should be. Unpretentious, friendly staff and a menu that ticks all the boxes from snacks to a full dinner menu. We really enjoyed our sandwiches and pint, accompanied by superbly cooked chips. We’ll definitely be back

Booked for lunch last Tuesday. A lovely warm welcome and friendly staff. The food was excellent and the sandwiches freshly prepared and piping hot soup. Would definitely recommend and will return when next in the area. Thank you to the staff.

I had the chicken breast in cheese sauce my husband had the steak and mushroom pie, the dish of mixed vegetables that we had were very generous. We both enjoyed what we had and the waitress was very friendly and helpful

Great stay in an authentic Peak District pub in this historic village- room was warm, comfortable and clean. Friendly welcome. Dinner was home cooked and good quality - we had steak and ale pie and tuna steak on ratatoille, both served with a choice of potatoes and veg. Cooked breakfast was well presented.

This pub is in a really great location within an historic village with many walks nearby. It seemed to be a very bustling local with friendly, helpful staff. All the food we had was super - both dinner and breakfast. Our room was fairly basic but very cosy and comfortable with lots of space for clothes and also space for one’s own toiletry items in the bathroom. As is typical in older properties there were very few sockets, making charging multiple devices difficult. However there was tea, coffee, biscuits and sweets provided, plus plentiful toiletries and flannels! Our only criticism would be that corridors leading to the rooms need to be cleared of items being stored and that trailing electrical wires can be a hazard! Overall we felt it represented excellent value for money, especially compared to a 3 star hotel we stayed in the previous week which cost half as much again and which was no better.

Couldn't find any fault with our visit. Popped in for lunch. Very friendly greeting from staff. Clean comfortable restaurant. Good menu. Food was served in timely manner and was excellent quality. My wife had the vegetable curry which was amazing. The steak and ale pie was one of the best I've tasted. I can highly recommend. We'll definitely be back

A really nice experience, the food was of a good quality, the room was clean with a nice power shower and genuinely a quiet experience... I stayed for two nights and was met with a very warm welcome when I arrived and the staff were really nice throughout, I would recommend again 😊
