房間小，床小，設施陳舊，小孩要單獨加錢，總體一般般

一個別墅，有好幾層，我們住在閣樓，辛虧接待員幫我們行李拿上拿下的。早餐幾個人圍坐一桌，按份上餐

還不錯。比較滿意。

這是我們第一次去那裡旅行。也太棒了，下次一定要再預約

地理位置優越。小房間。食物很差。不錯的酒吧。很棒的景色。

Situated up a hill between Ambleside and Windermere, the hotel has great views of the Lake. It’s an old building, dating to 1812 and, although restored, there’s lots of architectural features in the public rooms, giving it loads of character. We’d booked a “Four poster lake view room”. Not because we wanted a four poster bed but it was all that was offered when we booked online. It was a nice room with good views . It was spacious, with lots of storage and a couple of easy chairs. Our only issue, such as it was, is that the shower is over the bath, rather than a walk-in. Wouldnt be an issue for guests with younger bones than ours but we found it a bit of a struggle getting over the side of the bath. We had a drink in the bar which is a really nice room. And there’s a couple of small longes with what looked like very comfy chairs – the sort you could happily while away an hour or so with a good book on a longer stay. There are two restaurants – Arboreal which serves a tasting menu and The Grill, which has “pub grub” type food. On the night we were there, all diners ate at Arboreal, even though we were ordering from the Grill menu. As I indicated, dishes are quite straightforward but are fine. Bread and dips to start for one of us, followed by mac and cheese.. Houmous and halloumi on naan bread, followed by pork schnitzel which came with a little garnish of coleslaw. Our server, who was excellent, warned me about the lack of accompaniments, pointing me towards a side order of spuds. Good call..Breakfast was also fine. A decent buffet with juices, fruit, pastries, cereals, etc and a good range of cooked items prepared to order. Pancakes for one of us, the full cooked breakfast for the other. A nice stay. We had thought about coming for Christmas but all the good rooms were already booked so that idea will have to go on the back burner for maybe 2026

We were given an afternoon tea for two voucher as a wedding present. When I went to book I saw that they also did a teddy bears picnic style afternoon tea for children, so we decided to take our son for a treat before he went back to school. We were warmly greeted by William who then went on to serve us. He was so lovely and super knowledgable in all of the afternoon tea items; he and Abin who also served us made our experience even more special! As for the afternoon tea itself, I’d go as far as to say it was the best we’ve ever had! There was plenty of food with lots of variety of both savoury and sweet. We will definitely return!

We used our vouchers we had, for stay with 7 course taster menu. Loved the view from our room and the hotel. The taster menu was wonderful, but they only had it for one night of our stay. Not much choice on the bistro menu but we both enjoyed what we chose. Thank you for a relaxing stay.

This was our 2nd visit to the Merewood in April 2023, where we stayed for 1 night and as our first stay, it was again a lovely relaxing stay. The hotel overlooks Windermere, and on a clear day, the view from the gardens is outstanding. The hotel has been restored to retain many of the original features, including the panelled hall and reception. The bedrooms are comfortable and quiet with all the necessities required for a short stay. We ate dinner in the Arboreal restaurant, opting for the 7 course tasting menu, which didn't disappoint. The flavours and imaginative presentation of the dishes provided a unique dining experience with the knowledgeable server explaining what each dish comprised of. Breakfast was in the main dining room and offered a good choice of pastries, cereals , fruit etc aswell as a good selection of cooked breakfasts to set you up for the day. All in all, we had a lovely overnight stay and would recommend staying here if in the area.

最近我和我先生一起去吃下午茶，這是他生日的生日禮物。食物很棒，是我們吃過的最好的下午茶之一。但是，天哪，誰允許狗進入我們吃飯的地方，那是一個配有扶手椅和矮桌的休息室。我們的茶放在一張矮桌上（在陽光充足的情況下），兩對夫婦帶著他們的狗進來，狗立即開始吃食物！我簡直不敢相信，這樣標準的飯店會允許這樣的事情發生！據我所知，整個酒店都允許帶狗。非常令人失望，幾乎破壞了我們的享受！
