Placed in a brick single story bedroom come lounge . Very grubby carpet. Vertical blinds hanging from runners. Area generally in poor repair. Hot and and cold tap in bathroom constantly running. Garden view. (REALLY) £83 No breakfast. Reception no real interest and the garden cafe closed at 1600, despite being told it would offer some simple foodstuffs and drinks. Forget it. Spa users some were very rude and clearly guest staying over were well done the list..

Absolute shambles,food was awful,cold,incomplete meals,no veg or potato’s to go with meals.Dirty full plates of food left in the bar area.All guests including other tables complained and left early. No Christmas tree or music,depressing atmosphere Would never recommend here,better food at Wetherspoons. I hope you refund all guests,not one was happy!Place empty by 340pm as everyone had had enough.why take bookings if you can’t provide what you offered!

Booked a spa afternoon with friends, facilities are very tired, and no indoor seating for spa guests around the pool area. Luckily it was a nice day so we could be outside, however the lawn hadn’t been mowed for weeks, dead plants in pots on the patio and weeds growing all over the patio. Worst part was the music! For a spa afternoon I expected to be able to relax without blaring pop, rock and rap music, some with profound swearing. Not somewhere I will be returning to.

Would like to that the housekeeping team and club cleaners exceptional cleanliness lovely rooms Reception staff unpredictable and confusing always on mobile phones Night porter wants to deep clean the poolside Cafe staff disappear or nowhere to be seen

This hotel literally looks like something from a horror movie. Every floorboard creeks, the light bulbs flicker and the place just feels empty. My room had absolutely no hot water so I had to take a freezing cold shower after a 12 hour day. The bed was old and rickety which instantly gave me a bad back. They offer no vegetarian breakfast and the staff member looked at me like I was an alien for requesting it. They asked me what time I was checking out after I payed for breakfast only for them to turn around and say that breakfast doesn’t start until 10 mins after you’ve left! They didn’t even offer me a refund. I’ve never been to Hell but this hotel really comes close …

I stayed for two nights to break up a road trip to a wellbeing retreat near the coast. Appreciated the help from friendly reception staff - Catriona and Zia - in switching my room and making bookings. Enjoyed delicious gluten free lunch options from Charlotte in the well furnished café (loved the repurposed antique coffee tables). Relaxing pedicure and massage with Cassie in the beautifully decorated Hayloft spa. One thing though that detracts from the classic Georgian country manor house hotel interior decor and atmosphere is the unfortunate addition of huge contrasting heavy Moorish style sofas and armchairs that look very odd and out of place. These heavy sofas (with wooden carving sticking above the end of several beds) are not shown in the hotel website photos, so must be recent. Also much of the existing period furniture looks in need of reupholstering and wood revarnishing and glass tops to protect the wood. Room kettles need descaling please. Also recommend having a door between the bedroom and lounge in Room 12. Bathrooms are very well equipped. Stunning views and relaxing gardens. I’ll be back, hopefully for my favourite rooms!
