I checked in the comfort suites hotel in Wilmington nc on market st on Thursday the 8th of September. Upon checking in I had a pleasant conversation with the desk clerk. I simply was asking about the rates. The manager walked up and showed me on her phone the current rate at 122. A night. I was paying 106. and change for the night so I said ok and finished checking in. As the night went on I thought about the rate and realized my 106 was with a 20% off meaning the 122 was lower than what I would pay for the one night had I paid full price at 133. So the next morning as I was leaving to go to the beach I stopped at the desk to ask about that. The mgr. came up and the clerk said she couldn’t explain the rates. So the manager pulled her phone out again and pulled the current rate which now was over 179. I simply asked to let me see that and she snatched her phone to her chest and said “you are not touching my phone.” I did not asked to touch your phone I asked to see the rate. I told her then that she showed me 122 the night before and she denied ever pulling that rate up or showing me that rate, which her clerk later said she remembered her doing that. she was so very argumentative about everything I said that I decided to check out upon which she said I would be charged the 179. To which I replied “I better not be” so I went upstairs and got the first load of my luggage and went to my car without saying one word to anyone. I came back in got the second load and was at the elevator when the associate who checked me in walked up in street clothes. I asked to speak to her and explain what was going on she was totally baffled as to why the manager was treating me this way since she remembered me being very professional and polite. The elevator door opened and there stood the manager. she summons the associate into the elevator and tells me I am not getting on that elevator with her and that I can take the stairs . I do take the next elevator down I walk out taking my receipt off the counter as I go without saying one word to anyone. I see my bill online and she has charged me for two days which I was told as long as I checked out by 11 in the morning I would not be charged the next day. this manager is totally rude unprofessional and will lie to make herself look good. she sent me an email stating I was never welcomed back at that hotel and listed why which were totally lies, leaving out the fact that she was yelling and lying to me. I have called corporate and I am handling it that way but my advice to anyone looking to stay in Wilmington DO NOT stay at the comfort suites inn on market Street. The hotel is not worth the stress of dealing with the manager Beth. Sincerely, Connie
