Great hotel, which was quiet, with helpful and kind staff. Especially Ryan and Alexis, they were extremely kind, friendly, thorough, and helpful. Alexis answered all our questions without making us feel incompetent. Ryan was an incredible gentleman, helping my great grandmother and aunt into our vehicle and closed the door behind them and provided water for all of us. Thanks for the great experience!
We stayed here as a traveling soccer team. The hotel is old and shows its age. All the carpets were super dirty and stained. When we arrived on Friday night, nasty old french fries were in the elevator- they were still there Sunday when we left. The base trim in our room was missing. Wooden floors squeak when the above guests walk around. Skip the Breakfast- nasty turkey sausage- crunchy scrambled eggs. The milk was warm.
訪訪客I stayed at this hotel for work a trip. Prior to me arriving, my manager booked my stay and at the time of the booking he stated that the stay should be completely charged on his credit card. The Hampton Inn employee stated because we are with a group, the security deposit would be $15 per day and I was aware that a charge would be on my personal credit card, which was fine . When I checked in, the lady at the desk said she would charge for the security deposit. I was staying for 3 nights , so there should have been a charge of $45. Once I got to my room, I checked my account and saw there was a $500 charge on my account . I went back down to the front desk and calmly said to the lady, I am just looking for clarity on why my card was charge this amount when that’s not the agreement that was told by phone. I was immediately met with hostility and was told “I’m not going to argue with you, you can talk to the manger.” The manager Sheeri Hightower came out and she was just as rude. She was very dismissive and told me no credit card was on file for my reservation and that’s why I was charge. That was a complete lie , because you can’t even book a reservation without a credit card and if that was the case, why wasn’t that mentioned when I checked in??! So, I went back to my room. As I walked away, I heard Sheeri Hightower and her employee laughing at me as I walked away(Nice way to make your guest feel welcomed.)To make a long story short, I had my manager email over his credit card info so he could cover the reservation. My manager called me and told me he talked to the front desk and it should be handled. Instead of the hotel manager calling me to tell me the issue was resolved and my credit card would be refunded, I heard nothing from them. So I stopped by the front desk again, Just to confirm they received my managers credit card and that it would be refunded . Again, I was met with an attitude and was talked to In a condescending tone. The following day, I was at the bar by the pool and the manager Sheeri Hightower walked behind the bar, looked dead at me and didn’t speak . She turned her back to me and ate a hamburger behind the bar and never acknowledged me. Once she was done, she walked away. The Hampton Inn needs to take a better look at the type of people they are hiring . I have been a customer service manager for 15 years and I would never be this rude to a customer. When my company has another convention, I will recommend they find another hotel. I will never stay here again.
Mr. Ray was absolutely wonderful!!! He went above and beyond with his hospitality. I truly enjoyed my stay there and would definitely come back again. The common area was always near and the breakfast was always delicious! After a long day the staff always greeted us with a smile.
We were super excited about our stay but the big let downs that I want everyone to know about is that the indoor pool is NOT heated & the hot tub is broken. Also, the pool was small & kind of dirty. Other than that everything was great. The room was sparkling clean, the beds were soft & comfortable, & the hot continental breakfast was excellent. There was a great selection of foods to chose from… All in all, a good stay but next time I’ll be going where I can enjoy a good warm swim & relaxing dip in a hot tub.
We arrived late because we were traveling from NH to move our daughter in to her apartment. After reading the negative reviews I waited to book my points until we got here. When I walked in at 11:56 the woman at the front desk said to book asap before 12. So I booked a queen bed and a pull out couch because that is all that was left for points. After she realized we were there with our daughter, she upgraded us to two queens and a much larger room. She was so accommodating and super nice. I wish I got her name (she was working August 2nd at 11:56). When we got to our room it was really nice and large. Yes, it is dated (but very clean) and the rooms are pet friendly so there were dogs there but they didn’t bark at all. The room smelled nice. No bugs (like people mentioned) and we had a great nights sleep before we had to move a truck load of furniture. The breakfast was also very good. Eggs, oatmeal (with a million toppings), sausage, bagels, toast, muffins. The woman running the breakfast was also super nice walking around and asking everyone if they needed anything. I definitely recommend this place.
MMark GThis was our 1st visit to the Comfort Suites and came away impressed with the room, staff and price. Our king room was very large with refrigerator, sink and sleep sofa. In for the Cape Fear Azalea Festival, our price was $20 less when booked 2 months ago verses current rates and lower than other like lodgings in and around Market Street. The continental breakfast was fine with waffles, bacon, sausage, and scrambled eggs. There were plenty of muffins, bagels, breads, fruits, oatmeal, juices, coffee and teas. Checking in on a Thursday afternoon we found the young lady at the front desk to be efficient, personable and informative. We would definitely stay here when in Wilmington again. We noticed the pool was empty during our April 4-8 visit but would guess it would be ready to go by May 1.
