I would like to say how much we enjoyed our stay at the Mary Arden inn the rooms where clean and towels changed daily, only one problem they didn’t offer hot food only continental breakfast luckily our friends just lived road the corner and we had breakfast there. The bar was busy and people friendly and it had a lovely open fire I would differently stay there again .

Good little find this pub. The rooms are a decent size and clean. Staff couldn't be more helpful. The pub itself is well used by locals, it doesn't do food in the daytime or evening at the moment but you can order in. They do offer a continental breakfast. Good selection of garden tables as well.

First off I would like to say that the team are absolutely lovely, friendly and welcoming. This review has nothing to do with the people who run this inn. From the outside, the inn looks lovely, very scenic and fitting with the history of the surrounding areas. The bar is nice, although we didn't use it once in our visit. The room we had was a two bed, typical one room, one bathroom. The first thing I noticed was there was loads of tiny stones all over the floors in both rooms, which I found very odd considering we didn't arrive until nearly 6pm and the check out time is 10am, so that's a good 8 hours to be able to clean the rooms. Secondly the beds were very uncomfortable, hard and my duvet had tears in it and also a red stain. The window in the room didn't close completely, the lamp flickered and got extremely hot, the wardrobe looked like it was about to fall over and the picture on the wall was wonky. The bathroom, the net curtains were torn, the shower had pink bacteria all around the edges, there was no bin in there and the whole room was just a bit dirty. All in all I believe this place could do with some serious tlc.

Only one staff on in the afternoon who was checking people in and serving behind the bar when he wasn't in the garden smoking. When we returned about 23.00 that evening we were told breakfast was from 8.30 to 11.00. We and our friends came down at 8.30 and 9.00 respectively and there was no one to be found in the building. We wandered through the kitchen and there was no sign of breakfast at all. Had to go in to Stratford to get breakfast. Very disappointed and will not be returning..

Brilliant stay!! Friendly helpful staff and lovely locals. Comfortable room with all necessaries. Lovely walks for our pooch that she loved every day. Lots to explore in the vicinity. Pretty little village with canal side walks. Will definitely stay again!!

Were originally informed that the Pub was closed but upon arriving we could see it was open, decided to have a drink and lunch. Although there were only 5 people in the bar the service was very slow, food arrived in 25 minutes and was OK, but more staff are needed.
