Room was OK, restaurant looked quite nice although I didn't eat there.
Marked down significantly because they had a fire drill at 0352
I had turned up during a cycling tour and had cycled a lot of miles that day and was absolutely out of it when the alarm went off.
Eventually it went off just as I was begrudgingly getting dressed to go join everyone in the parking lot.

The room was clean and comfortable and very quiet even though the hotel was full. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Good security on the hotel block with 2 doors operated by key card. Just a little too far out of the centre to walk but a great base for Whitby and the surrounding area.

Lovely room for really good price, probably slightly cheaper as its 20 mins walk into Whitby centre.

Clean, comfortable and well-equipped room. Friendly staff and good breakfasts - best poached eggs we have had in a hotel for ages.
Signage off the main road could have been clearer - overshot the entrance

Very comfortable stay at Penny Hedge with a clean room with comfortable bed. Nice breakfast and very friendly staff. Easy access to the Abbey.

Incredibly friendly staff and were engaging. Room was modern and very comfortable. Location was ideal to walk to the centre of town and they had free parking. We would definitely stay here again.

Good base for a then 20 minute walk downhill into Whitby. Yes a basic room; but that's what you pay for.
