吉賽德飯店(The Gibside Hotel)

Very clean hotel with great facilities. The hotel restaurant was excellent. The staff were all very friendly too.

took it for a few hours sleep pre flight , decent hotel for a few hours wouldnt recommend whole time , its advertised near the airport , but only way to get to airport is a 30 pounds taxi

We use The Gibside every time we come up to the North East. It’s close by where we meet friends for food and drink. The price we pay is always competitive. The staff are always friendly. Bar food and breakfast always spot on.

It’s my go to hotel when we are in the Newcastle area lots of food options in Whickham The hotel has its own bar with food which is good Easy access to metro centre and the road network

Hotel staff very helpful friendly and respectful . Clean and comfy room. However the bathtub/shower was awkward and unsafe for accessability. Safe did not work in spite of staffs best efforts. Dining staff in both venues excellent as were the meals.

Convenient location for what we needed . No food after 6pm on a Sunday was disappointing. Lighting in rooms is very gloomy . Bath plug didn’t work . Staff were very friendly and helpful

Stayed overnight on a B&B basis for 4 nights to assist with a house move. Very nice hotel and super friendly and very polite staff. Great breakfasts. A very pleasant stay. Highly recpmmended. Many thanks.

We stayed here on a visit to see family over the weekend and I have to say it wasn’t a pleasant experience. Room - The room wasn’t clean - we both got covered in bites! Room was really dusty. Toilet was blocked. Plug in bath didn’t work, wouldn’t open to let water out so had to force plug out. Safe didn’t work Staff- we had a maintenance man just walk in whilst we were in bed in the room, luckily I wasn’t fresh out shower or getting ready as was embarrassing!!! Didn’t knock, nothing just walked straight in and in to our bathroom as they were trying to figure out where a leak was coming from on another floor (not ours). Could have been very embarrassing!! Room service - called for room service one evening for bottles of water to be told no as it needs to be agreed with reception?? Reception hadn’t made us away of this, nor was there any information on this in the room. Lifts - no lifts not great for suitcases on top floor or anyone that can’t lift or access. Breakfast- paid extra for this - DO NOT bother it was disgusting, bacon was crunchy undercooked. Hash brown was DRIPPING in oil! Bar- Hotel bar was nice, staff on the bar were friendly. Overall the hotel is very dated, smells of smoke, seriously needs updating!! Could be lovely place with some TLC.

Last minute break away. Lovely friendly staff. At breakfast you feel like your part of the family. We have booked it again as our airport hotel in a couple of weeks. The only thing that confused us was the parking as its close to another car park.
