As Super 8 goes, this was a very nice place, the room seemed clean, tub was clean, toilet was clean (except for some rust stains), the room didn't smell bad. Bed was comfortable (except the usual skimpy pillows), sheets were clean, a/c worked well. Only bad thing about this motel was that the swimming pool (non-functioning, plants growing in the dirt on the middle of the cover) blocked us from parking directly in front of our room so we had to haul our luggage a longer way. There was a very nice Mexican restaurant within a few feet of the motel. Now, about the smell... I woke up around 4 a.m. to a terrible stench in the room. Really sickening. And it got steadily worse. I checked for plumbing leaks, burning wiring, etc. and found nothing. Then I decided to open the door and check outside. Even WORSE! Immediately closed the door and started Googling. Apparently there are several paper mills in the area. The smell must come and go, depending on the wind direction, because we didn't smell anything untoward from the time we arrived until we went to sleep. That odor was awful to wake up to. I realize it's not the motel's fault at all, but I'm sure it's not an unusual occurrence, and a little warning at check-in time would have been nice so I wouldn't have been panicking at 4 a.m. trying to figure out what was wrong. Other than this one thing, I would highly recommend this place as an economy short-stay. But if you have any kind of breathing problems, you might want to avoid the entire area.
