THE _____ ROOM KEYS DO NOT WORK. [Fill in the blank with the adjective of your choice. I know which word is in my mind.] This may sound minor, but was beyond frustrating when you get back to your room, tired after a long day. Day after day after day for all six days I was there. I went through three sets of keys. The first two sets took more than 16 swipes to open the door. (At 16, I gave up in frustration and went back to the front desk to get them to deal with it.) The third set of keys they gave me usually opened my room door within eight swipes, This is also unacceptable, but I gave up trying to get better keys. And I didn't want to hear more excuses about batteries and laminate on the key cards. A hotel has one purpose - to rent rooms to guests. If a guest can't get into their room, what is the point? Two of the front desk people seemed irritated/resentful that I complained. The third I talked to was helpful (made about 12 keys to my room and went with me to find the two that would work best). But at that point, I was so close to screaming that it didn't matter. On a positive note, the breakfast was better than when I was here in March. But the frustration of the room key situation means that I will never go back. The resulting high blood pressure is not worth it.
