Greeted with a warm welcome from Jane, who has a wealth of knowledge of the surrounding area and beyond. The guesthouse is situated perfectly away from the city of Wellington, but it is near enough to walk to. At the back of it, a quiet & and beautiful park leading up to Mt Victoria. The guesthouse was quirky and comfortable and interesting. The bed & shower were fantastic. The breakfasts are plentiful & delicious. Jane was a fabulous host. Thank you

Eclectic, homely, welcoming. Jane has set up a comfortable haven where conversation is natural and the accommodation ticks all the right boxes. My room was all I expected, no corporate styling but a feeling of actually being invited into someone’s home to be looked after.

What a lovely place with a lovely host. The house is exceptional with lovely, large rooms and air-con. Bus stop right outside the door is handy for the city and Jane is so helpful and obliging. We changed our schedule two days before, turned up early to check in, and had a very early breakfast to meet the ferry on check out day - not one problem for Jane who is also a mine of information on where to go and where to eat. Very enjoyable.

We were lucky enough to stay at the Booklovers B & B in Wellington and hosted by Jane. She is a wonderful host and welcomed us to her city with such happiness and enthusiasm. We had a lovely downstairs room and the accommodations were great - a comfortable bed, hot shower and plenty of books to look over. Jane gave us great information about how to make the most of our time in Wellington and her home is so perfectly located - close to the city center and yet close enough to walk to Mount Victoria. A perfect gem of a place.

We stayed at this B&B for one night but would’ve loved to stay there longer. It’s a well maintained old house with dito furniture with a lovely owner and friendly staff. Room was all in order and breakfast was a social gathering on a round table. That may not be your thing, but we thoroughly enjoyed it.

We were just one night in Wellington waiting for the ferry. Jane greeted us with typical Kiwi hospitality and got us settled in. The B&B is situated nicely up against a greenbelt laced with bike and trekking paths. The bus line runs right by Booklovers, but we opted to drive (next time we'll take the bus... we found driving in Wellington more challenging than elsewhere in NZ). After dinner we enjoyed a glass of wine in the parlor/lounge and were delighted that Jane joined us for some most enjoyable conversation. We feasted a wonderful meal at breakfast - toast, muesli, eggs, etc - top notch. We were catching a late ferry and store luggage at Booklovers while exploring a bit more of Wellington. The room was very comfortable and the hosts were all you could hope for.
