Had to wait 10 minutes for the man on reception to find the booking. He scared us by saying he couldn’t find it and took a while before letting us know we did have a room. Whilst waiting in the bar the tables were dirty and the seats. The bathroom was dated but the bed was cofmy and the room was adequate for the price paid.

Staff was very helpful, gave recommendations on how to get around on the train system. The room was clean and drinks were reasonably priced down at the pub.

Lovely place

I stayed at Travelodge Watford Central for two nights with my family. Unfortunately, my experience with the service was very disappointing. Communication at reception was difficult and not very welcoming. Even though I paid for both breakfast and dinner, no one clearly explained how the food service worked. When I went down for dinner, I was told the wait would be around 45 minutes, but I ended up waiting nearly two hours. The food arrived burnt and was not enjoyable, so I didn’t eat it. I also had an issue when trying to pay extra for food, as the card payment was not working and there was no flexibility or alternative offered, which made the situation even more stressful. However, I would really like to highlight Anna from the housekeeping team. She was very friendly, helpful and made me feel looked after, which I really appreciated. Her attitude and care really stood out. Thank you Anna – you made a difference during my stay.

Had an excelled room that was clean and was just about cool enough to sleep through the heatwave. Are in the hotel bar in the evening, having the two course for £15 offer. Food was good. Big thanks to Curtis for his help and friendly serving at check in, and in the restaurant.

We have just returned from another stay at this hotel. We have stayed here on many occasions as it has always met our needs. Location, cleanliness, comfort and friendly staff. We would happily recommend a staying here if you're in the area. We certainly will be returning (hopefully very soon)!

We stayed for one night at Travelodge Watford Central as a family with children, including a child with special needs, and we were truly touched by the kindness and professionalism of the whole team. From the moment we arrived, the staff were welcoming, warm, and very attentive. They treated us with genuine care and understanding. As a parent of a child with additional needs, this means more than words can express. We felt respected, supported, and completely comfortable during our stay. The team regularly asked if there was anything else they could help us with, which made us feel valued and looked after. It was not just good service — it was heartfelt hospitality. Our family room was clean, well-prepared, and perfectly arranged for the four of us. Everything was organised professionally, and we had a very comfortable night. We are sincerely grateful to the entire team for their kindness, patience, and professionalism. Thank you for making our short stay so positive and stress-free. We would gladly stay again and highly recommend this hotel to other families.
