Wangdue Eco Lodge was the gentle exhale. Another stop on our soul retreat, and another sacred space that gave so much more than we expected. Tucked in the hills, this place feels like a soft whisper from nature. Every room has a balcony with the kind of view that silences the mind and opens the heart. You sit there and everything just slows down. You remember how to listen — to the breeze, the birds, yourself. The lodge is built with such thoughtfulness. Earthy, warm, connected to its surroundings — it truly lives up to its name. It felt like nature was holding us, supporting the inner work we came to do. Sonam and the team were, again, beyond amazing. Genuine care, effortless kindness, and a sense of family. They made everything feel easy. Though this place felt different from Paro, the peace was the same. It gave us space to feel, to reflect, to be. I will never forget the moments of laughter, the shared smiles, the view that said everything without a single word. Wangdue was a gentle reminder that sometimes the most powerful healing happens in the quietest places. Thank you. Until then.

We spent one night at this lovely nature hotel and regretted not being able to stay for at least a week. A small and intimate hotel with 8 large, wooden-floored rooms, all facing a stunning view of the Wangdo Valley and the large fort illuminated at night. The hotel is run by one family, with the husband in charge of administration, the wife as the chef and the children helping out with everything. We also met the lovely owners, Sonam and his wife. The breakfast served outside was an experience in itself. We would like to return

The staff is friendly and catering to your needs and the rooms are cozy and have a great view of the river and local zhong. The location is remote and the road to get there is not well made so be ready for 10 minutes of little discomfort and once you reach you’ll be happy with the place. Small but efficient and good food. Though ask for restaurant prices

Excellent food, attentive service, beautiful setting. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. They do all the little things really well. The ginger lemon honey tea is the best in Bhutan. They accommodate mountain bikers well - plenty of food, bike wash. You can ride right to the hotel from the trails

The hotel is difficult to get to. The road leading to it is not in a good shape at all. It is away from any marketplace or restaurant. So if you are looking to stay in a place with activities next door , restaurants close by etc then this isn't the place. It is away from the hustle bustle. Has a rustic atmosphere like the name suggests. The food was prepared in house with vegetables grown in their premises. The hotel staff are very nice and took good care of us.

Facility with rustic beauty offering great views of Wangdue fortress and feel of a country estate. Warm hospitality, lavish sized room and bathroom alongwith great food made the stay enjoyable. Owner's perspective on local history and culture made the visit unique. Breakfast could have been better in terms of variety and portions.
