Paid for two nights, but left after one - would have left even earlier if possible. Has the most terrible rooms I have ever seen anywhere.

Arrivati all' aeroporto, in 5 minuti ci viene a prendere un accompagnatore gentilissimo di nome Marlon. Dopo una mezz'ora arriviamo all'hotel. Ci accoglie lo staff gentilissimo e alcuni carinissimi sciacalli. Stanza bellissima dove la notte ti accendono il fuoco e ti mettono la borsa dell'acqua calda dentro il letto per riscaldarti. Offre di tutte le esperienze che vorreste fare tutti almeno una volta nella vita. Ci hanno trovato un pallone per giocare a calcio tra di noi. Dune bellissime. Giro in quad ancora più bello. In poche parole esperienza stupenda! Continuate così!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Et courage fuyons, et on a fui ( histoire vraie) Ce qui console c’est qu’apparemment nous n’avons pas été les seuls. Rendez vous 14 heures sur un parking pour prise en charge par un véhicule pour nous amener à l’hôtel. Arrivée d’un prestataire à 15h30 Il faut savoir que la Direction n’autorise aucun véhicule pour son accès au bout du monde. (on va vite comprendre pourquoi !) Même pas une petite excuse à l’arrivée. Explication sur le fonctionnement de l’hôtel : -Pas d’électricité de minuit à six heures (en réalité électricité coupée à 23 h). -De l’eau courante qu’à compter de 18 h. Nous avions dans notre programme une ballade dans les dunes en 4X4, la réalité selon le manager de l’hôtel est le transfert du parking à l’hôtel. Car la ballade (3 ou 4 heures) dans les dunes est payante et au tarif de 19OO $ Nab soit 3800 $ Nab pour nous deux. Autre activité le kayak ou le kayak ( activité que j’avais refusée au départ) , ou, si on veut la ballade sur la plage. Notre tour opérateur a eu l’excellente idée de nous prendre 3 nuits dans cet endroit. Et bien entendu pas de véhicule pour se déplacer. ( sans payer bien sur) Activité gratuite par contre, la chasse aux mouches dans la chambres, ça occupe ! Nous avons mis une bonne heure et demie à en tuer une bonne trentaine. Genre tableau de chasse nous les avons ramassées et exposées sur une tablette de la salle de bain. Nous avons eu la malencontreuse idée de faire cet exercice en chaussette, elles ont servi de serpillère et résultat poubelle. Chambre pleine de poussière, donc nous avons poussé nos investigations à : Table petit salon, lampe de chevet, tablette salle de bain : il n’y avait qu’à passer le doigt pour faire des dessins. Mais pire derrière la cuvette des toilettes, une belle épaisseur de poussière ce qui veut dire …..( photos à l’appui car on ne me croirait pas) Tapis taché. Un léger doute sur les peignoirs de bain mal lavé au niveau du col, et surtout un des peignoirs avec manches retroussées ( à servi ?) Et pour finir cette « superbe » journée, un diner avec comme entrée des huîtres ( on a décliné, vu que nous étions les seuls clients, et que nous souhaitons vivre encore un peu) donc velouté aux champignons (boîte ou surgelé cuit, moins de risques) pour suivre poisson que nous avons demandé à voir (moitié surgelé œil pas vitreux mais blanc), immangeable tout comme le dessert au chocolat, une bouchée est on a tout compris. La nuit bruyante, car l’océan et le vent s’entendent parfaitement dans la chambre qui n’est pas ou mal insonorisée. Au levée du jour, comme il n’y a pas de rideaux occultants, et bien réveil dès les premières lueurs. Et le matin encore quelques mouches voletants de ci delà , dont une morte dans le lavabo. Le comble c’est qu’à Walvis Baie, après en avoir parlé, tout le monde connait cet établissement pour ses côtés négatifs. Nous avions trois nuits en pension complète, on a fui, car j’ai exigé de mon organisateur local de changer d’hôte

We stayed two days at Pelikan Point Lodge and our experience was definitely not positive. On the bright side : a) the location is indeed special. Remote, wild and overall fascinating although somewhat spoilt on one side of the bay by the constant and uninspiring passing and stationing of huge oil and commercial vessels; b) friendliness and nice attitude of the manager and staff; c) good quality and nice presentation of the food; d) the kayak trip among the seals offered by the lidge which was really awesome. On the negative front were a) the rooms (we got two, the seal and the dolphin) which are unwelcoming, badly maintained and extremely basic. They are made in cement and bricks with no hardwood floor and tiles, mediocre furniture and no attention at all to design and comfort. In particular what was unacceptable to us was :b) the open toilets (very bad idea!) c) the absence of supply of electricity for extended parts of the day and during the night; d) the smell of sewer in the dolphin room; e) the absence of a heating and air conditioning system. We were there in Winter and in the evening it was freezing cold and we felt extremely uncomfortable and eventually all the three of us caught a cold. The seal room has a very primitive heating system (which was provided upon our request also in the dolphin room) with inflammable liquid lit by the staff which is however totally ineffective. Moreover it doesn’t last long and leaves behind a bad smell of kerosene. This huge inconvenience is clearly seasonal but we assume that an opposite problem may occur in Summer with high temperatures. Moreover quite disappointing were f) the wifi system which is extremely slow and doesn’t allow any decent internet connection; g) the hot water supply which is very limited and doesn’t two showers in a raw.

WORST PLACE EVER! No where does is say on a website nor outside the lodge that it is private. We called in advance and asked if they are open, we were told yes and that we can come over. No one wants to take responsibility or own up to their actions. We get there just to be treated like rubbish. I am 38 weeks pregnant, in need of the restroom but they turn me away like it is nothing to them. Useless, disgraceful piece of crap place! Never ever recommend this place to anyone. I feel sorry for your guests! Do you treat them like this?

Please don’t book this place, there is no water and electricity, no WiFi, they are misleading customers, most guests were asking to be moved to near by hotels , I never slept there I’m still waiting for my refund till today, the place is shocking, how could you run a guest house without water and electricity, in freezing winter like this, I warm everyone not to think about booking this place, I don’t think they even got approval from the government to operate this lodge, I was stranded in the middle of nowhere, I will never advise anyone to book this place, I’m currently reporting it to the Namibian tourism board, I want them to send someone to inspect the place, they will prove my complaint
