Prior visit was good but now read this below. Can the resort comment on what assurances can be made for divers going forward to not have this situation happen in the future? I would not want to fly all this way to have the below happen. Is it not possible to have different boats serving different level of divers? This is really very concerning and obviously not acceptable for a true dive resort. Out of our 7 consecutive diving days, we only made it out to the marine park 3 times. To me this is a blatant Bait & Switch operation. We were told by 3 different staff members that each time a new group showed up they had to stay at the local reefs to check them out. Obviously there are a wide variety of skill levels in international divers, and a local, tame check out dive is warranted and a good safety idea on day 1. But they need to run additional boats for either the new divers or the more experienced ones instead of cramming everyone on one boat.

There are nice and not so nice aspects of our time at VoliVoli. Pros -The dive shop is good and MOST of the divers are quite competent and caring -The reefs are nice with the soft coral being some of the most beautiful -The rooms are clean and the cleaning staff tries to meet your needs -The wait staff is excellent and tries to please -The bbq and local food nights showed much effort even though I thought the food was mediocre in taste. The group brought in is nice for a little cultural flair. Cons -The entire resort is geared to "nickel and dime" you. For example, when I checked out I paid with US Dollars. They insisted on their high conversion rate in spite of both mine and other guests showing them that their rate was inaccurate. Of course I had to pay extra. Credit cards are also charged a fee. -The food looks very nice but the majority of it is terrible. DO NOT ORDER BEEF! Lots of cows in the country but the beef served is tough and substandard. I've eaten hockey pucks that were more chewable. -The pool needs renovation-It is concrete with sections of concrete broken throughout the bottom -Make sure you are able to hike steep hills because all rooms, while they have a nice view, are a good hike. If you have a disability you can't do this and there are no phones in rooms to request golf cart assistance. -They will not drive you to town which is 15 minutes away. A taxi will cost you $50 USD PER PERSON round trip so prepare for $100 fee per couple. -The tour they offer in town is quite expensive-$80 USD per person when the going rate on the island is $45. -I crushed my fingers between the boat and long boat. I do not blame them for this but once this happened they made no urgent efforts to get my four potentially broken fingers to the shore and for some ice and first aid. You are on your own with medical so be aware. Overall, we found it a nice stay and enjoyed the diving. I would not return but do not regret going there. Enjoy but know there are some definite deficiencies with this resort.

A beautiful small resort that was immaculately well kept. I loved the hospitality with all the staff who were friendly Fijians from Rakiraki. There was a personal touch where everyone knew your name and looked after you. Food excellent, accommodation excellent and cultural opportunities available. A wonderful place for a relaxing holiday . I would go back again tomorrow.

This was a terrible experience. We felt like a number. It is like a Marriott. Could have been anywhere. Did not feel like Fiji. The dive boats were very crowded. We were packed in like sardines. 18 divers on a 3-tank dive day. 45 minutes to the reef. Bligh Waters Note: they have more boats and could have separated us out, but they did not want to use them. Another 3-tank dive day: we were excited because there were "only" 12 divers -but they just packed us into a smaller boat. They gave us no dive orientation. W brought our gear down, tried to talk with someone at the desk & our gear was gone. Someone put it on the boat without telling us. The accommodation: when we checked in, they did not know who we were. Tried to charge us for WiFi (it was included in our package). Asked us for a voucher -I suggested the simply look up our reservation. The first accommodation -no orientation. Just told us to find it. We got there -no electricity, limited water, almost no coffee. Had to trudge back to reception and wait until someone could fix things. They did within an hour or so. Our point: they should have checked the room and known who we were. It is a 2.5 hour cab ride from the airport. They knew when we were arriving. We moved to one of the four bungalows -it was wonderful. For an additional $500/night. Upon check out, they charge you 3.5% to use a credit card. If you have US dollars, they give you an unfavorable exchange rate. The restaurant. The food is good -but don't buy a meal plan. Better to pay-as-you-go. The portions are huge. We ended up splitting most dishes -but still had to pay for 2. *Before you go -carefully look at the overview of the place. We should have. There are many great places to dive in Fiji. This is not one of them.

We stayed at this beautiful resort capping off 2 weeks in Fiji around Viti Levu. Yes this is a dive resort but for non divers like us there are many other options available like kayaking paddle boarding or just chilling by the pool or your patio with the view of the ocean. But the best thing about this resort are the staff. From Va. Tina. Tito. Rita. Ima. Mere. Moira just a mention a few Everyone was warm and welcoming. Food was delicious. We especially enjoyed Lovo night as we both grew up in Fiji and this brought back great memories. Oh and the best sunsets. Thank you for a great stay

The views were amazing and the beach was great, with picturesque views of sunrise and sunset. Snorkelling was great too. Limited activities at the beach. Coffee machine had broken down and no fresh juices served - a big let down for a tropical place.
