We were completely bamboozled by our booking. On ******* it was listed as an 8/10 hotel, 3.5-star hotel. It was a dump! Right off the freeway, next to a ******* store, and looked like a long-term stay motel. It smelled awful and the rooms were clearly dirty. We didn't feel safe, let alone completely disappointed with the misrepresentation on *******. We tried to resolve it with both the hotel and ******* and were told nothing could be done because the hotel wouldn't receive the commission from *******, even though we offered to pay that. The hotel then said that they were missing out by holding our room on other business (which we had booked at 4pm the day before and lets be real, no one was looking to stay there). I called ******* and they said that there wasn’t anything they could do at first and then when pushed, said that if the hotel owner agreed, they could offer a refund. Clearly the owner said no. They said that they would “upgrade” us to a better room which was horrible if that’s their best room. I work in the criminal justice system and these rooms seriously looked like a prison cell. We ended up leaving with $422 less in our pockets.
