I booked this bed and breakfast as it is local to the hospital I am doing shifts at. I phoned the owner and she took my credit card details and agreed my booking. Upon arrival she claimed to have no records of my booking and told me she couldn’t find me a room. I then had to book a travel lodge last minute, double the price and when I asked politely if there was any way they could pay the difference as it was their mistake that left me essentially homeless, the male owner became aggressive and forced me off his property saying ‘we deal with people like you, we’re going shopping, get out of my way’. Possibly the rudest man I have ever encountered and I hope nobody ever makes the mistake of booking this abysmal bed and breakfast in the future. They’re not only terrible hosts but scammers and all around terrible people.

From the moment you try and park in the chaotic driveway to finally experiencing the “breakfast” and leaving, this is one massive disappointment. The “jovial” patron greets you with an air of annoyed indifference, paperwork is completed, and you are shown to your cell. Whilst clean the room has all the charm of a 60’s youth hostile mixed with the space of a shoebox. The fire safety certificate, proudly displayed in the welcome pack, is a decade out of date, as is the serving docket on the depressurised fire extinguisher in the room. Decor and bedding puts one in mind of an episode of “Rising Damp” but with none of Rigsbys redeeming features. Breakfast, such as it is, consists of cereals of indeterminable brand or quality, in glass jars, with contents that may be older than the guest about to consume them. In short, unless living history is your thing, avoid the whole Prisoner of War experience, and book elsewhere.
