I didn’t stay here, just hung at the bar but the staff are soooooo nice and helpful! Fernando (I think that’s his name?!) is the owner and is an absolute doll. Shelby and the new Israeli volunteer (so sorry I’ve forgotten your name) are so sweet and I loved getting to chat with them. Oh! And Miguel is the absolute cutest puppy and you should hire him to keep attracting tourists into your bar. 😂 Loved the beer options they had. Thanks you guys!!

The Flutterby House turned out to be one of the favorite hostels that I’ve visited. The people here were kind and helpful with their advice about what to see and do. The rooms are simple and clean, and the setting in the trees—where I woke up one day to see a red macaw outside my window—was lovely. Although it sits near the edge of Uvita, the walk to reach the bus station on the main road isn’t far; even better, the nearest beach is only a few minutes away. So are some restaurants, but I ended up liking the food (and drink) at Fluttery as much as anyplace I visited in Costa Rica. It was a wonderful surprise to discover that the restaurant/bar’s TV carried that weekend’s NFL playoff games when I was winding down one night. I would definitely stay here again.

I have just spent four wonderful nights with my partner at this beautiful hostel. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel welcome. The staff (especially Adwa and Fernando) were so friendly and so helpful during our stay… They definitely went over and above for us. The place has a lovely vibe, it feels super chilled, and it was one of the best value hostels I’ve ever stayed in. Just a short walk from the beach, which was perfect for us. Our room was lovely and clean, as were the shower and bathroom facilities. Can’t recommend enough.

- They ask for a 50$ deposit and when we check out the employe want us to wait for his collegue to have our money back. - The kitchen and in general all the place was not well maintened, dirty kitchen, bathrrooms not renovated. Rooms dusty, old not clean furniture. - The beds don't have mosquito nets so we had lots of mosquito bites. - Breakfast: rice was not fresh and have no fruit. - We didn't feel welcomed and it has been to us the worst expérience we have ever had in a hostel. We find it expensive for the quality of the accomodations and the service. We absolutely dont recommend it.
