A brief weekend at the Nest was sadly too short to fully enjoy the tranquillity and beauty of the setting and the wonderful hospitality of the hosts. But what a great relaxing time it was!

If you are a bowler, beginner or pro, the courses presented by Theuns Fraser and Simon Botha is a must join. They were present every moment of the course and spend a lot of time on individual help as well. Be careful of the surroundings and the fresh air, it could be contagious.

We love visiting The Nest. The gardens are looking magnificent. The walk down to Hippo pool is lovely. We enjoyed the bowls competition which is always so well run and such fun.

Definitely needs a revamp, i think they are doing a little in time but the room i was in was shabby and

Upon our arrival at reception, we were greeted by smiling, welcoming staff members. This attitude continued throughout our stay. The family mountain view accomodation was spacious, comfortable, well decorated & immaculate with wonderful views of the mountains. The meals were well presented & delicious. The mid morning & afternoon tea & coffee, served with tasty treats were another special touch. We enjoyed the walk along the river & the various other outdoor activities which were available. If you want to enjoy a relaxing getaway in an idyllic spot, The Nest is the place to be!

We are repeat visitors to the Berg and The Nest. The Nest offers such good value for money and as usual the staff, food etc was lovely. We are going back in April and always looks forward to our stays there.

Grading, facilities & meals is more likely a 2 star hotel. We did not enjoy our three night stay at the Nest. No WiFI is available outside of the dining area so you need to use our own data in the rooms. Hotel is not eco friendly and very out dated. Water takes 5 minutes to heat up and such a waste of natural resources. Rooms were very cold and required the under floor heating and electric blankets to remain switched on continuously also a waste of energy. Aged sanitary is discoloured, chipped and painted . There is no air conditioning. Walls are very thin, I could hear my neighbours. Food was the biggest disappointment, tiny tasteless and unappetising. Additional serving is allowed, but one feels like “Oliver Twist?” asking for a second helping. Staffs were friendly and polite.

A beautiful location to unwind, relax and enjoy the estate and its surrounds. The staff are friendly, very helpful and were always accommodating. We stayed for 4 nights and could definitely have stayed longer. It was a very relaxing trip with yummy meals being served.
