I was really impressed with this hotel. Sure, it's basic, but it has everything you need. The front desk staff was super helpful and spoke English well. Breakfasts in all of Peru, as I found, were simple, and this was no different. But they had eggs and toast, coffee, juice and tea so I was happy. The beds were comfortable and the views are great. I do recommend this hotel! It's super clean, too.

This hotel is known for its garden and views, but other aspects leave a lot to be desired. In fact, the hotel was quite disappointing. The hotel definitely does not meet the standards of a boutique hotel, as it describes itself. - rooms are ok, conformable, but basic. - PREJUDICED treatment by the staff. I felt a huge difference in treatment between European and North American guests and Latin guests. I had never experienced this before in a hotel and I found it very serious. - It definitely does not work for long stays or as a base for exploring the Sacred Valley, precisely because it is at the train station. The place has a strong smell of BURNING FUEL, and there is TRAIN NOISE all the time. You wake up and go to sleep to the sound of whistles, which is very chaotic and unpleasant. - There are other much better options in the city. - It is about 10 minutes from the center, with a reasonable climb. And you have to wait in lines of train passengers to get into your hotel every day. - Breakfast is REPETITIVE AND WITHOUT VARIETY. Simpler hotels in the area had infinitely better coffee. However, it seems to be standard for the hotel, a jacket that other guests have complained about in past reviews and nothing has been done. They say they will improve in the responses to reviews and nothing has changed. - Professional staff, but IMPATIENT AND IRRITATED. They are resistant to simple requests. - I asked for computer at the reception to view a personal document that can only be accessed via computers. They did not allow me to use it, and there was no other available for guests to use. - A hotel of this value has no amenities whatsoever, only soap. There is no shower cap, skin moisturizer, cotton wool. I have never seen this in hotels that classify themselves as ”boutique”.
I received a room that was dirty and smelled musty. The hotel said that there were no other rooms available and that they had a special machine they could put in my room to remove the smell, but I would have to leave the room for a few hours. No one could explain to me what this machine actually did! After speaking to 4 different people, I was finally told that a suite was available, but I would have to pay approximately $500 per night extra to move. None of the staff their speaks English well so it was very difficult to explain that I should not have to pay extra. No one seemed to feel bad about giving us a smelly room and just said that it was very hot outside (as if that explained the situation). After a long days travel, we were exhausted and so I agreed and we moved into the suite. Then, that night, both my son and I got sick. We don't know if it was caused by the food in the hotel or something else. Regardless, I called the front desk at 11 pm and asked if they had any medicines. The man at the desk said that I could go into town to the pharmacy, but he did not know if it was open. I asked him if he could call the pharmacy to see if they were open. He did not speak English well and kept repeating that I should go to the pharmacy. He was entirely unhelpful! This hotel is beautiful and the suite was nice. But, the service is terrible. No one seems to know what is going on and not one person spoke English well. Breakfast was included in my rate, but the first day we were only offered a cold buffet. The second day were were given a menu to also order hot items. It turns out that they forgot to give us the menu or even tell us about the hot items the day before. No one apologized or made any effort to make up for the error. The staff just does not care if the guests have a good experience or not. This place is very expensive, and definitely not four or five star quality. Stay away!
Hotel Luz Garden was great! The staff treated us like family and were very nice! They came by each night to see what time we wanted breakfast and even let us stay in our room a little later so we didn't have to set around town waiting for or train. I will definitely stay here again.
Let me start I was skeptical while booking but when I reached here my stay was fantastic. Location: it is a wonderful location directly on the river and 4 minutes walk from railway station and bus as well as all the restaurants. Service: Christian and Judith provided the best possible service. Breakfast was the best. Free Wifi Internet was good Allowed to keep our luggage after checkout free of charge Overall I would love to stay again here!
We had an amazing dining experience at the full service restaurant. Yolanda the restaurant manager is a well-mannered, pro active and efficient person. She met and exceeded our expectations in terms of recommendations with our vegetation needs and provided us with classy service. She manages the restaurant staff with her excellent management skills and keeps the guests extremely happy with her human relations skills. We wish her all the best in her career and the hotel management should be proud to have such a great asset in their team.
FFreqTrvl75A bit surprised the hotel is that highly rated. It was certainly decent but for the price (or cheaper) you can find many better alternatives. A staff member met me at the train station and escorted me to the hotel which was a nice touch and just a short 5 minute walk. I reserved one of the deluxe rooms. The use of the word deluxe is done loosely. The room was quite small but the worst part (and perhaps should have caught it earlier) is that the room didn’t have any AC system. It was quite stuffy. You could leave the window open but not only it didn’t provide much inbound fresh air but you’d be subjected to loud noise (music, people, crying babies) from the street. If you are a light sleeper expect it to be challenging with the noise. Bathroom was small but sufficient. Bring some toiletries since they only provide shampoo and conditioner (I guess you can repurpose the hand soap as well). The mattress is rock hard so if you like it then it’ll work well for you. I also found the pillows to be uncomfortable. The complimentary breakfast buffet was elaborate and probably has more items than you’d care to eat early morning before exploring Machu Picchu. They also provide a buffet lunch for around $20 USD and a la carte dinner. I tried the lunch buffet and it was also very elaborate. On the site they have a picture of a jacuzzi so I assumed it was part of the hotel guest amenities. I was wrong. They have a spa but you need to pay a day pass to access the amenities. Check out time is 10am so if you’re hiking and/or visiting Machu Picchu in the morning plan accordingly since they charge a hefty amount if you request a late check out. The night prior I asked for a Noon check out and they said it would be $50 USD. Ultimately I would consider this property more average than upscale.
I’m a torn on this hotel. On the one hand, the service was fantastic. The staff were extremely helpful and were great to deal with. On the other hand, the photos of the hotel do not match most of the actual rooms at all. The rooms are extremely barebones and there are gaps between the windows and walls that you can see daylight through, the views were non-existent, etc. the door barely locked and could easily be forced, the windows didn’t lock, and it was extremely loud in the room. The photos vs reality is pretty much a bait and switch. I’m not sure if it is still under construction or renovation or what, but the rooms are absolutely nothing like what is depicted in the booking photos. I did walk by some rooms that appeared to be nicer, but the room we were given (and the several I saw next to ours) was not great at all. Additionally, there is no indication on the booking page that you will need to climb 60ish steps up a hill to the hotel. This wasn’t an issue for me but if someone wasn’t aware or unable to make the climb this could be a nasty surprise. We didn’t know this was the case until they sent us an email letting us know the day we arrived. Honestly I’d have given this 1 star if the service wasn’t as good as it was. Looking at other reviews, it appears one other person had our experiences but others didn’t. Perhaps it’s luck of the draw with the rooms but be aware that not all of them match the photos at all. For not much more money you can find other accommodations in the town that are far better.
BBarry KThis hotel was a low quality experience and I do not recommend booking there. My room was not air conditioned. The window had no screen; so if you opened it to get air, you got the bonus of a large supply of unwelcome bugs and loud outside noises. The outside walls and windows were not insulated, so you were assaulted with loud noises from outside as well as nearby passing trains. The inside walls and doors were paper thin; so you could hear your neighbor’s conversations as well as involuntarily sharing in the audio of their TV watching. There was no chair in the room to sit and read; so I ended up in the lobby. The tap water is not safe to drink; so I got ripped off for $3 per bottle for water that cost 50 cents at a supermarket. The only free option was filtered water only available by the glass in the lobby 5 floors away from my room; not a viable option. The light in the room was dim. Finally, the bed was a narrow single bed of the kind I have not used since my college dormitory 50 years before. Altogether, an unpleasant experience.
訪訪客用戶Bed was really comfortable. Johan and Marie were so accommodating. We arrived in the evening after a long day of trekking and they got us to our rooms very quickly and understanding of how tired we were. The water was so loud being by the river at the end of rainy season that we were lulled to sleep both nights. All-natural sound machine. Hotel is close to everything. Rooms were clean and decorated uniquely. Breakfast in the morning was great, on top of the buffet Marie also scrambled eggs for anyone who requested. We had a great stay.
PP250Think of the furthest from train station, bus to machu picchu and restaurants, there is this hotel. However the service is really nice and the room is real clean. They cook me this breakfast. i love it apart from the location.
