The Lake Isle Restaurant with Rooms

We visited as a family group of fifteen people for our annual pre-Christmas meet up, and took dinner in the restaurant and eight of the nine bedrooms. Everything was outstanding - from the beautifully decorated dining area and bar to the quality and presentation of the food. We pre-ordered from the a la carte December menu, which had a wide selection of choices, and everything was delicious and promptly and warmly served. The staff were most amenable in catering to our large group, and breakfast next morning was similarly efficiently served and beautifully cooked to order. Our bedrooms ranged from the small cottage to the deluxe suite, but all were very well equipped, spotlessly clean, warm and welcoming. I would have no hesitation in recommending Lake Isle - so much so that we have already booked again for 2024.

We popped in for impromptu dining to be met by unfriendly, bordering on hostile, front of house If we hadn’t already ordered drinks we would have walked straight out, uncomfortably feeling we were either too much trouble or perhaps not quite the “clientele” they were looking for (in which case don’t take the walk-in) We were rushed to our table which was as shame as it would have been nice to grab a drink first from what looked like quite an exceptional wine list the restaurant decor is tired, tatty and entirely the opposite of the food which was absolutely fantastic, clearly a talented chef supported by a faultless waitress We left well fed but let down by the overall experience There’s a great Bistro literally over the road - No 23 if you want to experience the polar opposite that delivers welcoming customer service and great atmosphere bad luck or bad management, you decide…

After staying at th Lake Isle in July for our wedding anniversary, we decided to return as the experience was so wonderful. We stayed in the ground floor room outside which is perfect for us, it's clean and comfortable. The main reason we returned so quickly though is the food which is truly amazing. The beautiful restaurant adds to the perfect experience. We were certainly not disappointed on our return visit. The staff are delightful and attentive. Overall we had a fabulous stay and will certainly be returning.

We went to Lake Isle for my birthday last year and it was absolutely incredible! We had a 3-course meal and all courses were exceptional, both in terms of taste and presentation. The restaurant itself has a lovely, cosy atmosphere. My partner and I enjoy fine dining and have been to many high-class restaurants over the years; this has definitely been our favourite! It is no surprise that Lake Isle has achieved 2 AA Rosette awards - it certainly deserves a Michelin Star. We will definitely be returning in the near future.

A huge thank you to the entire team at The Lake Isle for making my special birthday so memorable. A five star rating doesn't do justice to the exquisite food and excellent service we experienced. A special shout out to Victoria and Richard who both were simply brilliant throughout our stay. We will be back for another visit and would encourage anybody who enjoys fine dining to pay The Lake Isle a visit.

Excellent from start to finish. We were in room2 which was one of the best we have stayed in, light, beautifully designed spotlessly clean with a superb modern bathroom with luxury bath and large separate shower. Dinner was excellent with very efficient and friendly staff and we had an excellent three course a la carte dinner as part of our dinner bed and breakfast package. Would recommend and will return.
