It's a decent hotel. My one complaint is that they don't offer a continental breakfast, not even something simple like free bagels and coffee and juice. When you're staying in a hotel it's a given that you've got places to go and things to do, with little time to eat. Often, breakfast is the only meal you eat all day because you're busy.
Take note that all the Courtyard Marriott chain offers is a Starbuck's in the lobby. My ham, egg and cheese on a roll and a small bottle of orange juice cost $19 ($21 with a tip.) Even in Manhattan a meal like that would go for $10. I don't mind paying for breakfast, but if you're going to charge ridiculous prices for food I least want a cafe where I don't have to stand on a long line to order.
There's not even a microwave in the room, so bringing something from outside is not an option.
In the future I will probably only stay at a Courtyard Marriott if there's nothing else available. They may justify the no breakfast branding as a way of passing the savings along to the consumer, but that is not reflected in their room rates. I've paid the same rate to stay at a suite in a Hilton hotel in the DC area and they offered breakfast as well as a microwave in the room.
