We were happy to have a room with very comfortable beds and nice views across a large garden with a springbok family and the Orange River. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. The are two good swimming pools on the property.

As part of a birding tour - this resort was beautiful and well treed with a large lawn - on the banks of the Sun river with Springbok on the grounds. Rooms were very nice with amenities. Very good meals were provided in the restaurant on site. Staff was very friendly and service oriented.

Situated fairly close to the centre of town but away from any car noise. Very peaceful on the bank of the Orange River and the garden & lawns were green & very well maintained. We stayed in a Cottage with river & garden views . There were 2 bedrooms & a small kitchen area with a fridge/kettle as well as a lounge with a tv & a large bathroom. The rooms were spacious enough for a short stay on our way to Kgalagadi. There is off road parking behind remote gates , so it quite secure. They also have back up power should it be needed. The property also has a big viewing deck overlooking the river with tables & chairs to enjoy a sundowner or some food . We did not eat at the Lodge. It would have been nice if there were some snacks to buy at the bar especially when we watched the FA Cup football final. As it is winter the Lodge was very quiet which was wonderful for us , just the sounds of the river. And we did manage to see the 4 resident springboks & even touch Frikkie although the other 3 kept chasing him away

Lovely experience with the Orange river flowing past our chalet. There were 4 resident springbok or springbuck antelope walking around. Our room was comfortable and clean with a small fridge, kettle, cups & cutlery. The breakfast included in the price was more than sufficient and tasty. Staff were friendly and helpful, even helped us keep our groceries cold in their fridges. Lorinda was a perfect host.

We enjoyed every moment of our stay. The view and greenery is a must see. The rooms were pretty nice and clean. Staff was great as well as the breakfast. I’ll definitely return with my family next time.

Rooms beautifully situated on the banks of the Gariep River. lush green lawns to the rivers edge with tame springbok grazing. Nothing lacking. Great recommendation for supper in town by the manager. Only negative and personal gripe is the OPEN shower - might be fashionable and withit but the water goes everywhere and especially in Winter it feels as if a Arctic gale is blowing in the bathroom.

Our stay there was great. Rooms are clean and well decorated. Very good beds. The landscape is amazing. Sunrise is wonderful on the river with the shape of the Springboks in the garden. Welcome is warm and friendly.

Thank you for all your hospitality!! I have stayed with you several times. It is beautiful next to the Orange River. Your accommodation is very clean, breakfast very good, staff very helpful. When you visit Upington, stay at Sun River Lodge!!

It has been the first time I visited the hotel. So the room I booked was not with river view I was told. But the receptionist upgraded me as it was my first visit with them. I got a room with a terrace and river view. It was great to see springboks in the garden. One thing I am regretting, I forgot mosquito repellent and that was a mistake when sitting on my terrace. It would be great if the reception could have some for the visitors to enjoy even more the stay.
