Unzen Jigoku and a dropin bath are within walking distance and if you go a little further you can easily access the attractions of the Shimabara Peninsula such as the mountains of Unzen Obama Onsen Shimabara Onsen and the World Heritage Site Hara Castle making it an ideal base for sightseeing
