An important thing first. If you want breakfast included, book your room at vantage hotels dot com. Book at other sites, and you are not entitled to breakfast. And its a good breakfast, so you should want it. Good location for exploring Joshua Tree NP. The room heat worked, but was imprecise. Thermostat let the room temp go up and down over a very wide range. You have to check in at the hotel next door. If you want ice, you'll need to haul yourself to the hotel next door. Breakfast also at the hotel next door. Wireless internet was weak (and I was using a new tablet purchased just 2 weeks earlier). Bed very comfy, shower good, property generally quiet at night, though its a motel style, so the cars are right outside the room doors. We were on second floor, so the cars did not cause a noise issue. Mini fridge worked, microwave worked. Everything was very clean. Solid grocery store within easy walking distance. The hotel is located on a busy road, not an interstate, but expect an ongoing level of road noise - its better of course if your room is back from the road (which ours was). Kudos to the staff, all were very polite, super friendly and very helpful. Cleaning staff, front desk staff, breakfast person - everyone was without exception great! If your a fuss budget, you'd be wise imo to spend an additional twenty or thirty bucks a night, and go for one of the better hotels in town. But if you are a basic person (or couple), just looking for a place to snooze with few frills, this hotel will work for you. It's a good economy option.

Worst place to stay In 29. Dirty and drug filled. Garbage everywhere. Staff as high as the guest. Really bad owner who could care less how their property is. This is not a place to have childern, really unless. No security at night. Don't forget about the bedbugs
