We stayed here for one night as part of a walking trip. The initial impression was of a pre-opening up, (what I presume to be like a Cold War feel). The site and entrance were pretty unimpressive; however there are some quality aspects to the hotel. Staff was efficient and friendly, note that the desk is not manned after 22:00, and entrance is with a punch-in code-lock to the hotel entrance and one’s room. The rooms were a tad small for a couple. Spotlessly clean rooms, clean sheets. Beds were very nice (we got a twin rather than a double). Shower was excellent, but tiny. Again, spotlessly clean. No air conditioning, small fridge, but unsure if it worked, didn’t cool much. Food: restaurant was closed, no food/drinks available (unsure if it was temporary or a permanent measure as older reviews from 2023 also mention this). Older reviews for the restaurant were good but unable to comment. Breakfast, like everything else was good, efficient and on the spot. Lovely breads. Did not meet our ratings of the other six hotels we stayed as part of this holiday. Overall, functional, and caters to needs rather than wants. Covers the need of a walking holiday adequately, possibly not for a longer stay/family holiday.
