VERY POOR! The place is dirty and musty. It's obvious management doesn't care. Changed rooms twice, all no good. The room we booked had a bad odor and was obviously not cared for. The closet door was broken and didn't slide, the room safe was broken, plumbing was sloppy with mismatched fixtures. Hair dryer was broken and the wall mount had what appeared to be blood in it. Black build-up on the sink sprayer looked like mold, in any case had not been cleaned. Because of the odor we asked for another room. The desk clerk, Tyler, was very nice and helpful and and was able to switch us next door for two nights, but we'd have to switch after that. Lost our king bed for two queens. Fine. The new room was generally cleaner, but the next morning we found hundreds of small ant-like bugs crawling on the kitchen counter and breakfast table. They politely sent someone to spray for the bugs. Got rid on most, but not all. We then had to switch to a room on the fourth floor from the second floor, pack and unpack again, not fun. The new room had a musty odor also. The dresser smelled so bad we could not put clothes in it. They had no other rooms available. We really should have left and looked for another hotel, but that's not easy or convenient in the middle of a vacation, so we stayed. The second night I started having sinus issues, maybe a coincidence, but I don't think so. We asked at the desk (at the second room switch) if we could get some type of refund for the inconvenience. The clerk said she would have to ask the manager, but he wasn't in and she didn't know when he would be in. Never heard from him. The lobby was in disarray, with the ceiling opened up and wires hanging all over. The smoke detector was hanging and had not light on, I suspect it had been disconnected. We saw a contractor working only one day, mostly taking breaks outside. Construction materials were left on the ground outside and were getting wet from the outdoor showers. They are bring wet construction materials into the building! The elevator floor mat was filthy and the ceiling panels were missing. The elevator inspection certificate expired in August 2023. One cab made a loud clank as if passed the second floor and once the the lights blinked and the cab didn't move. Stopped using the elevator. Insufficient parking near the building - had to park in a lot across the street each night (actually a nicer lot than near the building). If you want a beach umbrella and two chairs it will cost you $45 per day, plus tip (the tip screen comes up first when paying be card). Can't call this a resort, just a run down, poorly cared for hotel. Sorry for the long winded review (I could go on longer), but this is the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. This place is a health and safety hazard and I will be contacting the health and building depar**ents.

DO NOT GO HERE unless they have the water heater system replaced, the construction done, and the owner of our condo--"Tyler"--more customer friendly. First, the building is under massive construction and the water is supplied by an "on demand" system which, during non-peak hours, gives you alternately scaldingly hot, lukewarm, or cold water. This was the experience in my unit. Not conducive to a comfortable vacation. After multiple phone calls and texts to explain this situation over a 2 day period to the condo owner as well as several conversations with maintenance staff, I sensed the owner never accepted the truth I described above. Everything had been "worked out" with the maintenance staff in her view. My view is that an explanation is not equal to offering some kind of reduced fee for the living conditions of the condo. Second, I was trying to relax in my unit during the day only to have construction noise so loud in the unit next to me I could not listen to an app on my phone. Moreover, there were some other smaller items (the bathroom sink stopper was broken off) that indicated that this owner was not on top of keeping this unit in good rental shape. Third, (to further give background: the "Inn" is actually owned by several owners who then lease out units on VRBO, etc.) In looking at my unit's water plumbing, the maintenance person let slip that our owner, "Tyler", is an owner who does not always do the best job of updating her units. Hence, we had water connections that were not the best, he said, which added to the water problems. Fourth, "Tyler" was not sympathetic to our complaints and would not consider any refund. I stayed for 2 out of the 5 days of my scheduled stay. Granted I, was not owed a refund due to the cancellation policy. I was willing to pay for the 2 nights. Still, I believe a good business person who is customer service oriented would have granted some kind of refund--part of the total. This owner absolutely refused and hence did not seem customer-friendly. Fifth, after surveying the other reviews of this property on TripAdvisor along with the building owner's responses to them, let me just respond in advance that even though the building owner and my condo owner may write that they seek to satisfy customers, etc., I urge great caution in believing them. The condo owner kept leaving me cheery texts that everything was working out when it clearly was not. And, she would not accept my final decision that the unit was unlivable for a vacation rental. This behavior is NOT consistent with a desire to please guests.

Overall decent experience. We are Florida locals and wanted somewhere to stay on the beach for our anniversary. Their website does mention construction going on and this didn’t bother us. The rooms could use some updating but I guess they are working in Th at. Publix is 5 min away, which we loved. This would have been an excellent stay had it not been for this one lady who kept accusing guests of smoking. She would be yelling at guest from their balconies asking them if they were smoking. She did this on more than one occasion. Quite annoying and it just ruined the experience for us. I understand they have a no smoking policy but there has be another way to address this. She even mentioned that she didn't have authority to make those calls but yet she felt it was necessary to call people out. I think she is a bartender and if that's true maybe she should just keep doing that.

Beyond filthy! The only positive about this room was the view of the ocean. The pictures I posted on this review certainly speaks the truth. The stove, microwave, and refrigerator in the kitchen area were not only filthy but shows a level of being being dangerous.

I don't recommend staying here. The photos of the room we booked online were deceiving of the quality of the actual room (room 320). Spend the extra and stay at a real hotel instead, where they are going to care about you (and there are other hotels with just as nice views). Front desk people were very nice, but the customer service overall was extremely poor. In the room we stayed in the floor in kitchen is messed up, water from whatever seeped up for 2 days before finally stopping (there is some sort of hole under the cracked floor in the kitchen which in room photos is hidden by a rug), rugs look extremely dirty, bathroom sink stopper is broken, bedroom nightstand top isn't attached at all- it slid right off, and the door broke the night before our wedding. Unfinished refurbishing in the bathroom. Some weird cover on the kitchen ceiling covering some sort of hole that was drooping from the ceiling above fridge. No manager or actual maintenance during the weekend. We had to wait 30-45 minutes for our door to be fixed (come to find out the entire door frame needs to be replaced). Spent a lot of time being treated poorly while trying to have these issues taken care of during the week of our wedding. Manager admitted to knowing some of the floor issues, accused us of embellishing our story, wanted us to "perform" walking across the floor for him because we felt we had to intentionally dodge the messed up spots on the floor, and threatened a 0% discount instead of 25% when we were still clearly unhappy with the way we were being treated (meanwhile he originally never offered anything at all, nothing to assuage our frustrations with the room, we had to ask for it). We were still unhappy because of the trea**ent we had been receiving the entire time we stayed. It was no longer about just the floor, but the clear lack of care about us as customers staying in the room, and the fact that we were given the run around over everything. Including when they let us look at another room which the front desk person told us she had blocked it before giving us a key to go look, and then refused to let us move rooms. No one could do anything or guarantee anything for us without the manager. The worst stay I've had at Island Inn, and honestly, the worst stay I've had anywhere.

I will start off with what needs improved. Glass door on shower track very dirty upon arrival and read same issue in other review. Top cover on one bed had a small but noticeable stain on it. No extra blankets in room. Only a sheet and top cover. Would suggest bringing a small blanket when AC blows right on your face at night. Noticeable stain on couch in living room. Needs a deep clean. Table top glass missing on balcony table. Should either remove it altogether or replace glass as it can not be used for anything. What we did like was the kitchen was well supplied with pots, pans, kitchenware and cutlery. Had everything we needed to cook our meals. Has a Keurig but no K-cups supplied. Thankfully Publix nearby to purchase. Closet space is functional and enormous and plentiful for all guests in our family. Hair dryer and iron worked well. The front staff person was quite friendly with check-in that we appreciated. We did have to go every day for towels and occasionally for more toilet paper. Beds were fairly comfortable. TV worked well and games provided. Thankfully a beach umbrella was provided along with a wagon full of beach toys. The view from both balconies were amazing in morning and at sunset. The pool was nice and never too crowded when we wanted to use it. Food & service at Tiki bar was good. We would definitely stay here again with only minor improvements needed. A short walk to the beach and they have outdoor shower spigots to wash off sand in which we appreciated & used daily. Give this place a try!

DISGUSTING the owner of room 508 and Island Inn ought to be ashamed!  Please avoid 508 for your own good, or ask if its been cleaned. Check in was quick the evening we arrived and the desk clerk was informative and helpful. There are two elevators in the building, one was down "temporarily" - which turned out to be for our entire stay (Tues-Sat).  They did have a maintenence crew working on it for a couple days, but when we left on Saturday it was not fixed. Upon opening the door, we were greeted by a 10' blue line of tape holding down the transition piece between the new and old tiled areas.  We knew one of the areas was tiled recently due to the difference in the "real life" and what is posted on the Island Inn website.  This wasn't the only difference.  The fridge was new and where it was set up, you had a hard time opening it, as it opened INTO the counter rather than to the wall.  The couch on the website was replaced with a futon, which had about a 4" cut in it.  Most of the furniture had been replaced with something other than what was on the website.  Website photos are very misleading as i will add photos later. We thought, whatever...look at that view when we opened the curtains (only to find that the screen door was immovable and was ripped down the side.  Like seriously?   This is pretty ridiculous.  Stepping out onto the balcony one gets a great view, but the beat up plastic lawn furniture just left something left to desire.   I sat down on the bed to turn down the A/C and I don't think the vent in that thing had been cleaned since the unit was installed. There was a nice furry film of dust on it.   The ceiling fan made all kind of noise when running and when i went to pull on the string to either turn the fan up, or the light on, i dont recall, the end fob thing (had been tied onto the chain) fell off. We left our things and went down to the pool as it had been a long day.  The pool was ok and the tiki bar was open, there were a few folks having a good time.  Walked out to the beach to enjoy the sight and found that you could rent various items from a beach vendor (chairs, umbrellas, boards, etc.) Back to the room to take a shower....are you f@$%^%^& kidding me?  That shower was so stained and disgusting it looked like it was also put in the same time that the A/C was cleaned.  Shower head was rusty, had to hold the toilet flusher down in order for it to flush. I'm getting more irritated as i write this. Irriated that we spent $800 on 4 nights in this place when i've stayed at cleaner low end Motel 6.   No coffee in the room, there is a pot, but you have to bring your own  We already had cofee with us as we stayed 3 days in Kississimee days before.  First cup i grabbed apparently had not been washed...and still had coffee rings inside the cup (all it needed was a cleaning, apparently cleaning a coffee cup isn't in the cleaner's job description) The MOST DISGUSTING PART OF THISWHOLE ROOM?????  Stained comforter?....like c

I do not usually write reviews, but I don’t want anyone else to have the same experience as we did. We booked this inn back in January. Months later, we get 2 emails about our rooms being moved because of renovation. So we couldn’t get the room we originally chose. When I called asking if we can be compensated for this-they said no. At this point, we couldn’t change rooms because the wedding party booked this inn and everyone was staying there. We arrived around noon, so we knew we were early. We let them know we will be at the pool and to call us when it’s ready. We checked in on our room 1 more time around 2 and it was still not ready. By 3pm, which is the check in time, the room was still not ready. When asked why that is, she said “Check in STARTS at 3pm.” You’d think if you let them know you’re already there, they’d try to get you in by 3 for sure! Nope. By this point my husband had it and told her to please call whoever she needs to call to get our room ready. So we finally get in and the room was okay. We got one of the renovated rooms, but the fridge stank like chlorine, I had to rewash the dishes before using them, the ottoman dirty, and we had a random blue beach towel hidden in the couch cushion. I also don’t think they wash their floors because my feet were black! So I just wore my slippers for the rest of our trip. As sad as it is…the view is the only good thing going for this inn. We only heard the construction Monday and Tuesday because we came on Saturday, but I can’t say it would be enjoyable if I wanted to go take a nap in the middle or the day. We were out and about most of the days. The front desk employees were not professional at all-looks and manners. At one point when I got there, the lady was on her cell phone talking and asked if she can get back to me in 20 minutes. Seriously? When I travel, I want my room to be clean enough that I don’t have to wonder what could have happened there. I was on pins and needles here. I say spend a few more dollars and stay somewhere else.

Great room, amazing view. Plenty of room in the room. Clean, bright and open. Bathroom fan was not working, Coffee no longer provided in the room. Pool bar has a amazing bartender but could use another based on volume. Parking is tight spots and a lot across the street. Restaurants within walking distance and the beach was not over crowed. Perfect weekend getaway.
