"My only experience of Centre Parcs was a weekend visit to the Sherwood Forest site with some work friends. I have to say that visit was very enjoyable. The same can not be said for the Tossens site. The holiday was booked during the Covid lockdown in the UK. We actually visited during the summer of 2022. I have been meaning to write this review for some time but I felt so angry and let down at the time. It was a huge mistake. It cost an absolute fortune and I can honestly say it was a huge disappointment from start to finish. The site is very old, very worn, and very dirty. We selected a premium cottage which looked great online but was nothing like the photos in real life. Extremely dirty, garden full of weeds and ants. No air conditioning and in the high of summer it was boiling inside. Tossens itself is a complete dump. There is no beach and apart from a lovely play park on the way to the sea, there really was nothing else to do. My daughter loved the on-site pool of course. However, that was my worst nightmare so my husband took her. We went out every day just to escape. There are some lovely places to visit in that area of Germany and thankfully we discovered Hookseil and Schillig. We went to Schillig for our holiday this year and had a fabulous time at a fraction of the price. We booked a week of evening meals at Centre Parcs, but after visiting once, the food was so awful and the restaurant so dark and dirty, we never went back. Another complete waste of money. When I complained I was refused a refund. I was told as we had pre-booked 7 meals when we booked the holiday, food had already been purchased for us. That was a complete and utter load of rubbish as we could choose which nights we went for dinner during our 14 night stay, so the resort would not have known in advance when we were visiting. It goes without saying I will never, ever be visiting this Centre Parcs, or Tossens, ever again. Awful."
