Residence Inn by Marriott Topeka

Old buildings are hard to clean. Carpet is disgusting and old. No solid granite or composite quartz anywhere. Lamp in my bedroom had protective brown paper adhesive stuck to the plastic white shade top (which I washed off) it looks much better now. I understand you cannot refurbish the hotel often, but after 40 years it is obvious that nothing has been done. The lighting is terrible & there are no outlets with charging options for an A or C adapter to charge a phone or computer. I guess you have no competition.

This is an average hotel that needs updating. The bathroom floor needs to be cleaned better-dirty corners and grout. I complained about the light in the shower/toilet room as it blinks several times like a strobe light before going fully on. The woman at the desk said that all of the bathrooms do that. That is unacceptable IMO. The staff at the desk were not friendly and didn’t even greet us when we arrived to check in. The doors to the entrance of a hotel slide open, but have the feeling like one is walking into a jail. Even the exterior of the property needs some attention/improvement. The Continental breakfast included with the rooms was average. We did appreciate the full kitchen with a full size refrigerator!

Good place to stay Always will chose to stay at this hotel!!!! Pool area was nice pool towels was available that’s a plus hot tub worked ,,, room was nice as usual cons the pull out bed had dirty sheets on it so we all had to sleep in the queen bed other than that it was nice

A little pricey but Property is very clean and respectable! As well as the pool area staff are very nice and helpful. I would give them my business time and time again!

Overall Good Experience The whole building had a very faint smoke smell. It seems like this hotel was renovated but feels like a very nice hotel from 1995. The spa and pool were excellent

We stayed in a hotel downtown that cost twice the amount of the Residence Inn, then booked here for our last night in Topeka. The Residence Inn was so much cleaner than the expensive hotel, the staff were so nice, the pool/spa was clean and easy to access, the continental breakfast was good too! I would pick this slightly outdated Inn over the expensive fancy hotel we stayed at for the cleanliness and service alone!
