I have stayed at The Red Lion some years back. This time I was very pleased to see that the interior decoration had been updated. The room I had was very pleasantly decorated with William Morris wallpaper. The breakfast and restaurant and restaurant area had had a facelift too. Definitely an improvement from what it looked like previously. The staff members at reception were very friendly and helpful. Overall it was a very pleasant and enjoyable stay. Thank you.

The staff here are really hard-working, professional and friendly. The pub is now chain-owned by Chef & Brewer, which means some cost cutting, especially in the bar. But the rooms are clean and quiet and comfortable.
One thing that drives me mad - the noisy music coming over the speakers at breakfast time! It's just too loud - it should be background only, but at times we couldn't hear what each other were saying. Turn it down!

Really enjoyed our stay. The rooms have clearly recently been refitted to a very nice standard. Staff were helpful and the restaurant very good.

The hotel seems to be an extended old pub. The interior is well decorated and the bedrooms are quite spacious with pleasant decor. The bathroom has an efficient shower over the bath. Though pleasaant, the bar was quiet and a bit boring. Breakfast, which was waiter service, was poor and the portions a bit stingey - the rostis on day 1 were burnt and inedible and the food was barely warm: while on day 2 they had no baked beans and the veggie sausages were rock hard. Needless to say we did not have dinner there on either evening!

Early customer appts in Sheffield meant either a 4am start from home or an overnight stay near the customers. Opted for the later. Easy to find, clean, comfortable, good food and service and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.

Good location to M1 good business stop, very clean refurbished room. Excellent cleaning lady called Linda was lovely to chat with her she does an excellent room service.
