Thornton Beach Holiday Park

Very dissappointed with the amenities at this Park. We stayed 2 days and both days (after reporting it to owner) there was NO hot water in the Amenities block, so cold showers, cold shaves etc. Also all the barbeques were locked up so couldn't be used. Place was infested with ANTS and even saw a mouse in the kitchen area.

Shocked at the rates we were charged and what we got for it. $320 for a night. Hadn't been cleaned properly, coffee table was really dirty. Windows have mold all around them. Window surround rotting. No expelair in bathroom. Couldn't open window a bit,it flew wide open so had to wait til dressed to air it out. No air conditioner, no WiFi no smart TV. No salt and pepper. Everything was just old and rugged. Very very disappointed

Thornton Beach: Friendly staff at check in, peaceful surroundings. Our cabin was clean and the kitchen and bathrooms were spotless. Our only suggestions were we don’t think there is a need to have music blasting in the bathroom and common kitchen areas. Especially at night when you go toilet. The hot showers, when you buy your tokens and put them in, are hot and VERY powerful, I stood there just to get a back massage. The double size mattress in the standard cabin was too thin. Even though it rained the whole time we had a very relaxing time.

A fabulous family camping ground. Facilities are always clean and tidy. You feel safe over Christmas New Year as you know someone is wandering around through the camp keeping it safe. It is great for fishing elaxing or swimming.

Incredibly disappointed about the lack of empathy for our situation. Ruthless profiteering from other peoples misfortune. Even the tone of the communication from them was so cold hearted. Frankly, I'm shocked

Was a great spot to camp and enjoy the beach. A couple of things let this down. When we booked there was no mention that the air pillow was broken. This was one of the main things apart from the beach our son wanted to do. The facility was clean and tidy. The outside showers have had their nozzles removed so you can’t have a shower to remove sand Going to the loo in the daytime still felt like walking into a cave especially if doing number twos very dark. Was also a little taken back to have to pay $18 per night for a 2 year old Under 1’s free !!!!!
