Gjendesheim Turisthytte

Stayed here at the end of a hike across Jotunheimen. Mainly building is good, but we were sleeping in the Spyderhytte which was basic Alpine-style accommodation and you needed to go outside for the loo. Amazing showers in the main building though! (Very welcome after the tepid ones at Gjendesbu). Good pizzas at lunchtime which were welcome as we had s very rainy day. Handy to have WiFi after 5 days offline to plan the rest of our trip. Nice wee evening mini-concert by a local folk musician.

This is an excellent place to stay at in Jotunheimen National Park. The accommodations are a bit rustic which makes for a more authentic experience than staying in a modern hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food was outstanding and you could eat as much as you wanted. One thing to note: this a DNT hut so you will need to bring your own linen and towels or rent them for an affordable price. It was no big deal I just wanted you to be aware.
