We stayed in the motel out the back last time as the pub was being renovated. All finished now so we stayed upstairs in the pub. They have done a brilliant job with all rooms having en suites. The work has captured the era and we’re very comfortable. We ate downstairs and all our meals were delicious. The local sausages were yummo. Our Kiwi friends loved the place. The staff were so helpful and friendly and we will definitely stay again, very happy to recommend this great pub in beautiful Tenterfield.

Nice place for dinner on a Monday evening. Needed to stay in Tenterfield due to flooding in QLD. This was one of the only places open for dinner. Glad we found it. Good food, good service. Very quiet. Hope more people visit here as was a decent pub feed.

We just had an overnight stop here on our family road trip and our stay was wonderful. The staff were lovely, comfortable bed, great mocktails for the kids! The food was delicious. We shared the lamb cutlets and the pasta, we definitely recommend.

We didn’t stay here but this boutique hotel is a real gem. It has recently been very tastefully renovated by an energetic youngish couple. The rooms in the old section are gorgeous, however I didn’t see the motel rooms. The bar is set up for lunches, the dining room is open at night - Fridays and Saturdays. The lunches were good and the staff are very friendly. It’s just opposite the Tenterfield Sadler, so conveniently located to the rest of the town. They only have 1 TV which was switched off - a very pleasant change. All pokies have been removed. Highly recommend

Fabulous 3 nights in one of the beautifully renovated rooms in the Royal. Such warm welcoming greeting and superb service. Great location in the historic centre of Tenterfield. Lovely big private verandah. Great food. Close to National Parks and the wineries around Stanthorpe.

Excellent service, great food & a beautifully renovated hotel. Worth a visit if staying or passing through Tenterfield - great place for a drink or meal in the fantastic newly renovated beer garden /al fresco area or inside in the beautiful bar and lounge areas. Perfect for groups, families, kids & travellers & is also Pet friendly!
