峽灣小屋(Fiordland Lodge)

We stayed here for 2 nights. Luxury accommodation with exceptional customer service. We loved the fact that there is limited rooms available, it made us feel like we were the only ones there at times. Great to catch up with fellow adventurers at the end of the day over a quiet beverage before sitting down to a sumptuous meal with a menu that changes daily. Views to die for with ever changing weather. We are planning to stay longer on our next visit!

Small lodge with every room having a fantastic view of the Fiordland National Park to the west. Excellent food, super friendly and helpful staff. Must do’s would include reserving one of their private hot tubs and a helicopter tour or fly in fly fishing experience are worth every penny.

What a gem just a few kilometers out of Te Anau. Perched on top of a hill over looking lake with mountains in the background. Stunning views. Gateway to Milford Sound. Meals were amazing. My favorite was the included breakfast. Try the curried Mince on toast!!! The Lodge is well designed. The rooms well appointed and private. Will definitely want to stay here again.

Our stay at Fjordland Lodge on the way to and from Milford Sound was a real highlight of our 5 week trip through New Zealand. From the stunning architecture overlooking spectacular TeAnau to the outstanding friendly and welcoming staff, especially wonderful Michelle, Fjordland Lodge is superb. The pre-dinner drinks and canapés in the impressive great room and the gourmet dinners are memorable. Be sure to try out the private hot tubs overlooking Lake TeAnau. We stayed in both one of the cabins which gives you more room to spread out and the main house which has the great views.

We chose to stay on Te Anau as a better access point to get to Milford Sound and the Kepler Track. But Fiordland Lodge was so wonderful, we could have just stared out the windows for days! We loved the outdoor hot tub, and we found the hosts to be so enthusiastic and engaging. The architecture of the lodge is very striking, with wood harvested from NZ forests. The breakfasts and dinners were wonderful, and we loved the closet with jars of candies for guests! We took advantage of the on-site helipad for a ride to the Luxmore Hut (saving us the energy that part of the hike would have required). Positively dreamy.

Incredible place to hold a management retreat. Fantastic staff who make you feel like family, beautiful lodge facilities including gorgeous, well appointed guest rooms. And the food was spectacular

First, the property is absolutely stunning. From the moment you walk into the main lodge, it's tough not to get overwhelmed by the view of the lake through the giant windows. We stayed in one of the cabins, which was nice and private and beautifully constructed, with a cute loft area. My favorite aspects of the lodge were the outdoor private hot tubs, which are free to use and have spectacular views of the lake. Super relaxing. The lodge has arranged plants and rocks so that you feel like you're completely alone outside, at one with nature, while soaking in the hot water. I also really appreciated the friendly and social vibe among the clientele, which was encouraged by the managers through the way that they positioned the furniture. Before and after dinner, there were common areas where guests could get to know each other over wine and snacks. The service was great. We especially appreciated Michelle from South Africa. The staff was also helpful in giving advice about our drive to Milford Sound. The area around the lodge isn't the kind of place where you could easily go exploring on you own without a car. But, except for our day trip to Milford Sound, there was no reason to leave this gorgeous sanctuary.

This was a luxurious stay. The setting is great, the cabin was clean and comfortable. The shower was odd though, as it only has an on and off setting, meaning you can't control the power of the jet, which resulted in excess water spilling over as there is also no way to control the direction of the shower head.

Was disappointed in the room considering the price we paid. The common area is lovely and huge and themed in mountain log cabin style. We were taken to our room which was a small chain hotel style room and dated on top of that. The bathroom was particularly tired and dated. Not all lights were working and and there was no reading light available and only 2 channels on the tv. Views were lovely and breakfast, which was included was delicious. But having stayed in a $200/ night motel a couple of days prior which was,spacious,up to date,sky movies,modern bathroom, seperate bedrooom,lots of lighting options and also had lovely views. It was super disappointing to be tucked away into a tiny room for 5x the price. Charge $500 NOT $1000.
