La maison de mes rêves ! Magnifique hôtel décoré avec goût. Très jolies chambres, soignées, hyper propres, avec des petites fleurs déposées sur le lit chaque jour. Superbe piscine, propre, avec un accès direct à la plage. Tout est beau ! Petit déjeuner délicieux. Personnel aux petits soins. Nôtre préféré au Sri Lanka 😍

I decided to book Coco Tangalla after having read only positive reviews, and knowing the place is part of the Manor House Concept in Sri Lanka. The price was medium high for the country, so I assumed the villa was nice enough. My fault. I can not say the place is bad…but surely it is not a boutique villa as presented. More an “ok” guest house maybe. The place would need to be refurbished and better maintained. It appears messy, old, basic instead of stylish. My bedroom had a very nice terrace/patio with the view on the pool: all the sun-umbrellas have holes; no slippers in the bedroom; the bathrobe were literally exhausted, and one maybe not even washed but…; the safety box completely rusted; the aircon works at the maximum speed only; the fan on the ceiling was so dirty I was afraid to turn it on… It is mentioned as a 3* place. Surely not a 5*, that’s ok. But frequently in the small place like that, the category of the stars is not applicable. Here is totally applicable, but for the same price I have paid in 4* hotels in the country, largely more deserved. Surely it is over priced for the standard offered, compared to the other places where I stayed during my trip. It costs not soooo less of the Galle Fort Hotel, -same brand property-, but it has nothing, really nothing in common with!

Staying at Coco Tangalla works perfectly as an oasis to relax, as well as a base to explore. It has a gorgeous pool facing the Indian Ocean, really helpful and efficient staff, charming rooms with AC, and delicious food which makes you wanna kickback rather than go out for dinner. The position is ideal for trips to watch blue whales, elephant herds and amazing birdlife. I included a surf at Hiriketiya, and a day-trip to Galle. Felt so lucky to stay 5 nights (in Kundhira room), and totally recommend this little gem with its feel-good factor. Hope you love Coco Tangalla too!

This was disappointing at first because our room was so small compared to other hotels we had stayed in during our time in Sri Lanka and the facilities were minimum. However it just got better and better. We had opted for half board which is a good idea as there are no restaurants nearby. Our first meal was freshly caught Tuna, devine, our next grilled fish and chicken and then they impressed us with the most tasty prawns I have EVER eaten and we enjoyed them so much we asked for them again the next night. There were only four young male staff members doing everything to take care of us and nothing was too much trouble. They served a delicious breakfast as well. Our stay here was extended as one of our family had to be admitted to the local hospital Coco Tangalle packed us meals to take to our ill sister and made extra rooms available at their inconvenience. I think the English owners name was Jim and he was most obliging. Australians and European backpackers loved the local beaches with their Bali style bars and cafes.

We had a lovely stay at Coco Tangalla. The staff are so lovely. The location is epic. We had Lobster one night and crab on the second. We organised a baby sitter for both days. We we were in heaven. Highly recommended

Very nice hotel. Beautiful, comfortable and great staff. The pool had an amazing view and the breakfast was great. The manager helped me a lot with retrieving something important to me I forgot at the hotel, after we left. Highly recommend!
