"There were a lot of negative comments previously- we found the hotel nice. Yes the decor is dated - but it’s clean Yes there are potholes in the drive - but so are the roads in this area. The beds were clean- we had an accessible shower- which was great. The reception staff during the day were lovely Breakfast was a good choice of cold food- we also had a cooked breakfast - which was lovely. As we had an early departure- breakfast bags were left for us at reception - very well stocked with a range of items to keep us fed. We were actually initially booked at the sister hotel - but it was closed so we were moved here - when I spoke to some locals - they all said we got the better hotel…."

"Spent a night in a lovely comfortable bed with decent breakfast in morning. Main downside was a very poor electric shower with low water pressure and erratic temperature control. Some of the other fixtures and fittings need attention as well - TV sound distorted, bathroom extractor fan doesn't work properly, bathroom mirror appeared to have a built-in light but it didn't work or wasn't connected up. This was the ground floor room at the front. Was also surprised to see in the online listing that the place has a tennis court and a billiards room, perhaps it does but I didn't see info in the room about where they were."

"Lovely rooms, very clean and spacious. Had a great nights sleep. Really good value for money. Friendly host and a great continental breakfast. Ideal for a short stay."
