Wat een leuke gezellige b en b , mooie kamers waar niets aan ontbreekt . Waanzinnig lieve Nederlandse eigenaren. Ze serveren een heerlijk uitstekend ontbijt en kunnen je veel vertellen over de omgeving. Eine schön gelegene Lodge in Swellendam mit einer recht weitläufigen Anlage. Das Zimmer war sehr schön, die Betten allerdings recht kurz, nichts für große Menschen. Das Frühstück war lecker, es gab sogar frisch gepressten O-Saft. In Swellendam ist sonst nicht so viel los... empfehlenswert ist vor allem die Anreise dorthin, wenn man aus Oudtshoorn kommt, weil man dann die wunderschöne Route 62 fahren kann.

Een groene oase in het toch al zo groen-dromerige stadje Swellendam. Fijne kamer en dito badkamer. Lekker vonden we het terrasje voor onze slaapkamer om ‘s avonds nog even samen rustig te zitten. Heerlijk verkoelend zwembad met goede bedjes. Het meest noemenswaardig was de zeer persoonlijke gastvrijheid van Vivianne en Jan.

We stayed overnight. Clean and comfortable room with a good shower and bed and a patio overlooking the garden. Good sized pool and loungers. Breakfast was superb and we enjoyed it on the veranda outside. Run by a lovely couple who were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again!

A perfect place for a stopover when driving between Cape Town and George, Swllendam is one of the oldest towns in South Africa. It has many Cape Dutch buildings, lots of trees and a beautiful view of the Clock Peaks, part of the Langeberg Range. Swellendam Country Lodge is located at the entrance to the town, on the main street, very close to all heritage sites and restaurants. Owned by a lovely young couple + smiling baby boy + friendly dog, it has a lush green garden, a relatively small swimming pool and comfortable, clean rooms situated in the garden. Breakfast on the main house veranda was fresh and tasty.

This review is relatively objective being my 16th road trip staying at 14 properties over 39 nights. We stayed for one night in March. Easily found on the outskirts of town with secure private parking, some distant road noise in the pleasant garden, but not in the room. Welcoming hosts. Well maintained garden and pool. A refurbished property, that’s clean and welcoming. Our air conditioned chalet was compact, but clean, well equipped and comfortable. Good quality linen and excellent shower pressure. No common area apart from the breakfast (excellent quality) room. Off grid solar power, so no load shedding problems. Decent WiFi. A good restaurant just across the road, with plenty of others further into town. Good for a short stay.
