斯托雄鹿飯店(The Stag at Stow)

My partner and I have just returned from a wonderful stay here. Our favourite thing is to go on short getaways- one or two night stays. In the 7 years we have been together never before have we had such a wonderful time. The friendly staff and the ambiance of the cosy and beautifully decorated pub itself would be easy enough to take for granted. Add to that the amazing customer service, delicious and reasonably priced food and the friendliness of the local people has left us with memories on my birthday treat getaway that we will not forget. We hope to be back and would recommend this stay for anyone. Thank you the Stag at Stow to everyone that made our much needed trip away so fantastic. Rachel and Mike(Posty) xxx

Large room in lodge with creaky floors as expected in old pub buildings. Very comfortable bed with large bathroom. Fresh cooked breakfasts were excellent with 10/10 for poached eggs and salmon. Room well equipped. Friendly welcome and great breakfast service ,especially by Toby.

We stayed in the Crows Room top floor for one night, no problem, we pre booked for Sunday dinner at 7.30 pm . We ordered the roast beef dinner each at a price of £24 each ,when it came out the beef was stone cold as was the yorkshire pudding, mixed veg must have been re heated more than five times veg burnt etc ,complained to manager, he took the meals of the bill ,not the point ,you expect decent meals i n a hotel of this grade to be served HOT 🔥 Will not be returning to this hotel any time soon

The receptionist was nice and that's where it ends. We were shown to our room called 'the crows nest' which was located in the roof of the building but given how tiny it was and how hot it got, it should be called the 'sweat box'. The toilet is too small to be called a toilet and the bed is tiny and so close to the wall you risk banging your head on a bean right next to it. Quite simply this room shouldn't be allowed to be rented. We checked out one day earlier and the staff didn't bat an eye lid!! Never again, avoid at all costs!

We stopped for dinner midweek and were very disappointed by the standard of the food. My wife opted for the Wild Mushroom risotto which achieved the unlikely feat of being overcooked and under seasoned at the same time. After two forkfuls she had to give up on the gloopy, tasteless pap she had been served. I was slightly luckier with the beer battered fish, but not by too much if I'm honest; when was the last time you couldn't slice through the batter with a steak knife? The table staff seemed to have an average age of 18 years and 3 months and also looked understaffed. It is a shame because the Stag is in a perfect location but just wasn't an enjoyable experience.

The staff were accommodating and friendly. Room was well prepared, warm and comfortable, but lighting levels were challenging. Disappointing there was no housekeeping after first day..at least a top up of tea and coffee. Difficult to access front door and stairs were a challenge for people with mobility issues. Breakfast was good. Didn't eat in for evening meals.

儘管工作人員友好且樂於助人，但酒店/房間本身需要更多關注。通往房間的走廊存在嚴重的黴菌/潮濕問題，房間本身也存在更微妙但仍然突出的潮濕問題。 除此之外，房間本來可以打掃得更好，我們發現表面有污垢，枕頭上爬著昆蟲，水槽裡留下了死去的昆蟲。 通往浴室的台階上有一塊大金屬脫落，這是一個巨大的安全問題。浴缸漏水，雙淋浴雖然理論上是個好主意，但開口很大，讓你們倆都感覺很冷。 令人擔憂的是，我們在退房時提到了清潔、潮濕和安全問題，工作人員只是說沒關係，只要您剩下的住宿時間沒問題即可。考慮到我們一晚支付了近 200 英鎊，附近有更好的精品酒店，價格相似，值得入住。 如果工作人員更認真地對待我們的擔憂和反饋，我們可能會考慮再次入住，但缺乏回應令人失望，這是一種恥辱，因為我們與工作人員的所有其他互動都很棒。

We spent a night at the Stag to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Unfortunately there was a mistake with our booking date which was rectified and another room was made available for us. The room we were given was very nice and the bed was very comfortable. We had an evening meal at the Hotel which was very nice, we couldn’t fault the food. We would recommend this Hotel to anyone visiting Stow-on-the-wold

The food in the restaurant was the best we have ever had, it was just like mother used to cook, the portions were large, I had toad in the hole that filled the whole plate. For dessert we had apple & black current pie for two, that filled a dinner plate & was home cooked. Price was very reasonable. You will not find a better place to eat.
