A Peace of Heaven The host and the property completely exceeded all expectations. This property is absolutely amazing. It is secluded enough to enjoy privacy by the creek and just a short drive to the attractions in the area if you would like to see the sights. A perfect location. I highly recommend staying on this property. The host will make sure you go home with nothing but pleasant memories. He was awesome! We will definitely be coming back.

Nice private getaway Love staying at this cabin. This makes our 3rd yr staying here. Perfect size and level of privacy. Glad to see it survived the flood. Not as much fish as usual post flooding. Hoping the hatcheries will get the trout population back up next year. Still a great stay. Plenty of supplies in kitchen and bath. Lovely view from from front and back deck. First time seeing a bear here. So that was an extra special treat.

Great cabin and stream, but ... After a few VRBO hiccups, check in was easy. The cabin is nice, clean, and comfortable. Lots of towels and extra sheets. The dishwasher did not work. We were unable to use the TV. The wifi is OK. The door to the storage space would not lock and banged in the wind, requiring a rock to prop it closed. There is no cell service but there is a landline.Information on how to get there should have been in the listing. Recommend asking owner to provide detailed directions both to the cabin and to Boone if he does not post them after our recommendation. The VRBO estimates on how long it takes to drive to places are inaccurate. There are no restaurants within a walking distance. Boone is about 25/30 /- 5 minutes away. Blowing Rock an additional 25 minutes. The first mile as you leave is a heavily rutted gravel road. The paved is narrow, with hilly and hair-raising sharp switchbacks and no shoulders.There was not much to do here. Contractors were loudly dredging the stream with heavy equipment for the first few days, so fishing and tubing were out of the question. Owner said they did not tell him when they were arriving. Since he knew that they would be coming at some point, it would have been nice to forewarn us, give us the option of whether to come and even offer some compensation for the noise.We enjoyed the stream after workers left for the day. If you plan to “stay put” for the most part you will be fine. But if you want more, it will require some driving. Hope this helps.

Amazing creek We loved staying here. If you are looking for somewhere to unwind in a remote peaceful location this is it. The floor plan is great because each bedroom has its own bathroom. This is a very nice house that is spotless. We loved being outside with the beautiful creek. We will happily go back.
