We have stayed at the property before, largely because of its very convenient location. We were going to the ‘Paris - Impressions of Life’ exhibition at the Bendigo Art Gallery, which is just over the road. The rooms are small and the bathroom tiny so OK for a night or two, but not longer. Also, Room 1, where we were, would benefit from an additional bedside light. Having only one is not very satisfactory. On this last occasion there were a fair few ants inside - unusual at the cusp of autumn and winter. On a more positive note, we did have a very good meal at Wine Bank on View, which is at the front of Allawah.
A simple one-nighter. Very well priced facility, particularly thanks to Trip.com. Positioned very close to an event we were attending, and close enough to everything Bendigo has to offer. The motel is definitely old and needs a full refurb. However, my opinion is that I can't see the value in doing this (certainly as the cost would be perhaps more than it's worth), and of course the cost to stay would rise significantly.
Frankly, its age didn't bother us as it was well presented, clean, had pretty everything you could want, the TV was nicely setup, the bed comfy, we couldn't have asked for more really. If refurbed, I don't believe the additional cost would work in that I suspect the price would have to double at least, therefore diminishing the attraction of a well priced facility. I give it a tick.
