We was attending the venue for a family wedding that was going perfect until after the reception. Just after we had got done with photos we took our seat in the dining area for the meal and was greeted by whom I was later told in the night was the manager, first impression from him was NOT as you would like from a “manger” rude, angry and clearly frustrated and this didn’t last a few hours it was the whole night! As the night continued with the very rude “manager” a few of us had congregated around a table and started to realise the prices of drinks, now the price of the drinks are fine what ever they may be but when the price changes two and in some cases 4 times throughout the night for the same drink it starts to get a little concerning as to how and why you can get so many different prices for drinks that are the same. I wasn’t happy with the service we had from the bar staff as it was and was even more disappointed with the change in price with every visit to the bar. With that being said I confronted the staff at the bar and was told i would need to talk to the manager who of course was the rude and still clearly frustrated man who I had encountered early that afternoon. Let me just add, if you don’t want to be around customers maybe a job in a different industry would work better for you sir as you are not someone I would even consider running the bar for a wedding with the attitude you have! As I confronted the “manager” he seemed to get even more rude about the situation I was told if I didn’t leave the situation he wouldn’t serve me anymore, thinking that’s a bit unfair as a customer and feeling the evening ruined by the rudeness I decided not to buy another drink at all. As a suggestion from myself, maybe some staff training in customer care and a look over your pricing for drinks are in order.

An old mill will nice grounds with 10 rooms but with a bar/restaurant too . I booked a double room for one person with breakfast at a very reasonable price. Bedroom was small but adequate with plenty of natural light with a large bathroom . Tea and coffee making facilities and complementary bottled water were available . All of the staff that I came across were very friendly and helpful . I ate in the restaurant in the evening, which was very good. The restaurant does close at 8 pm but by that they mean last orders so I eventually left the restaurant gone 9 o’clock. The menu is more than adequate and is supplemented by a pizza menu . There is also a small and formal bar all of which are centred around the theme of the watermill which is encased in glass . Breakfast the following morning was first class and I struggled to finish .

Delightful two nights stay. Lovely gardens, quiet rural location with a warm welcome from friendly staff. Comfortably appointed rooms with modern facilities in a historic building. Varied menu to suit wide tastes. I would recommend the venison pie with soft melting pastry served with a range of beautifully cooked vegetables.

We had our wedding here at Hornsbury on 2nd August 2024. From the initial meeting with Paul we knew this was the place for our long awaited wedding. Every contact from them was professional and yet always personal and friendly. We were drawn by the lovely surroundings and the professionally laid back vibes. They have a variety of meal and drink packages, but they are flexible and full of ideas. The food and drink was exceptional. I stayed the night before with some family and we had a fantastic meal and breakfast. On the day the team were on it, kept us involved when they needed to but otherwise they quietly got everything done and moving to make the day go off without a hitch. Paul made an effort to give us a couple of quiet moments, away from the scene for a moment to take it all in which we definitely needed. We had the best day, and we can’t thank the team At Hornsbury enough. I would always always recommend them to anyone looking to book their wedding!!!!

The place is beautiful ! The staff are so friendly and helpful . Paul the manager goes out of his way to help. Restaurant food is lovely, big portions. We had room 7 which is the biggest it has a working mill in the room. Very clean and comfy bed. Small bar with a lovely area with couch’s to relax and have a drink

The most friendliest and welcoming of hosts. The biggest and best breakfast you will ever receive. Well cooked and varied evening menu. The owners and hosts do everything possible to make you welcome. Unpretentious venue. Comfortable accommodation.
