Primrose House St. Ives

We booked a last minute night here and I am so glad we did! We received a lovely warm welcome, a beach practically on the door step and a less than 5 minute walk into St Ives. We asked for recommendations for dinner and chose to eat at Talay Thai (my goodness it was good!). We stayed in Room 4 which totally exceeded our expectations. We had a lounge area, a ginormous bathroom with a roll top bath and separate shower and a decent sized bedroom with a comfortable bed. Finishing off our stay with a wonderful breakfast and great coffee! To sum up; great location, lovely staff, beautiful decor, fabulous food and coffee. What more could you need! We would 100% return to Primrose House!

Really pleasant vibe as soon as you enter this hotel, really relaxed. Easy parking and check in, room nicely decorated and excellent waterfall shower. Very nice breakfast with what seemed to be good quality produce and the Cornish brown sauce was delicious. Would highly recomend.

Die Strasse zum Hotel ist etwas eng und steil. Das Hotel ist sehr gut gelegen, gleich oberhalb des Strandes. Wir hatten vielleicht nicht das beste Zimmer. Es war nicht direkt im Haus, sondern hinten im Garten. Zwar schön eingerichtet, aber das Wc roch etwas streng.

Rooms are hot and with only a cheap rickety stand up fan that makes an awful noise it’s an unpleasant sleep. Beds not comfy either so if you are expecting a good nights sleep maybe check in somewhere else. Breakfast is ok but no cereals out so just have to pick off the menu options. Service was slow and with only 1 person serving that’s probably why. Oh and the seagulls will keep you awake that are nesting in the roof! Overall not impressed and won’t be staying again.

Another excellent few days at the Primrose House, perfect accommodation, and the warm friendliness of the owner and staff is incomparable. The breakfasts are made to order, and the menu should suit all tastes. Just looking forward to the next visit!

Boiling hot room, uncomfortable bed, curtain hanging off, no milk, no shower gel, seagulls nesting up in the roof that will wake you up, total nightmare. Breakfast wasn’t great either, thick tough tasteless bacon, cheap bread for the toast, no cereals out for you to choose from. For the £220 price per night you can stay in an ACTUAL hotel up the road which has far superior facilities, plus a spa for the same money. This is a basic bed and breakfast at best.
