We were a large group with 5 rooms booked. 3 rooms did not have the air-conditioning working (the units were on but not cooling). In the other 2 rooms, the unit was less than effective but was still working. The thermostat was set at 19 but the room did not cool below 22/23. We informed the manager at the time of check-in and were told that the rooms will take time to cool since the a/c has just started. Given the heat, they should have started the unit earlier in the day since we had informed them of our arrival time. The first night we had to sleep without an a/c or fan which completely ruined the next day as we were all tired without proper sleep. The next morning we again informed the manager about the a/c issue and she assured us that a maintenance guy will be called to fix the issue. We came back in the evening and out of the 3 rooms, 2 of them were much better but the 3rd room continued to be an issue. I was again told that the mechanic had just left and the unit will eventually cool. I asked her to at least provide us with a fan in case it is still an issue. When we came back from dinner, there was no fan provided and the room was still hot. The reception hours are till 9pm so there was no one available to help. We again had to suffer the second night in heat without proper sleep for this 1 room. Next day at checkout we asked to be compensated for the terrible experience but the property owner/senior manager wouldn't even come on the line to speak to us, They receptionist offered us 10% discount (~$55) for just that 1 room which was an issue for both nights, When we said it's not enough, the receptionist said the owner upped it to 15% (~$82). Nothing was offered for the other 2 rooms which had the issue on the first night. We again refused to accept this and in response they said even 15% is off the table. Our total spend was $2800 for 2 nights so $83 was nowhere fair for 2 nights of misery especially with young kids and old parents. I understand issues happen and things break but the management's dealing with the situation was very poor. If something major is broken in the room then why should the guest suffer and pay full price.
