Great location...only a 5 minute walk to the center of town. The view of the sea from the hotel is absolutely breathtaking. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are quite large and well appointed. This hotel is 5 stars in every aspect.

The welcome here is as if we're family or old friends. Staff go out of their way to help and really want to make sure everyone enjoys their stay. A real luxury hotel made for relaxing.

This is truly a classic grand hotel. Friendly staff Clean Accommodations Manicured grounds It is important to note that the facility is on a cliff with stunning views. The flip side is that the water access is a pier accessed by elevator. This is the case with most waterfront locations in Sorrento

After a horror of staying in another hotel for 3 nights of a 7 night stay and having to leave as it was disgusting, the staff and service at The Royal was brilliant. We told them of our horror and the snuck into our room and left a bottle of Prosecco as a surprise. The hotel was excellent and staff were accommodating and friendly. Food wasn’t the best but ok.

Incredible hotel in an incredible location! Hotel staff were very attentive especially at meal times and friendly. The access to the ocean and lounging area were our favorite place and thing to do throughout our 7 day stay through Rome. My only criticism would be that the hotel room did not get as cool as we would've liked, but we are very hot sleepers and didn't pay for a seaside room. I imagine the seaside rooms were cooler and had better ventilation.

The Grand Hotel Royal, an approximately 100 year old property overlooking the Marina piccolo, is a five star travelers dream. The property is beautifully and lovingly cared for and while traditional in it architectural presence, absolutely up to date and modern in its amenities and services. The upper grand swimming pool and terraces with dining amenities, perfectly landscaped gardens and lower level beach all facing Mount Vesuvius are all perfection. Don't miss the elevator located in the garden that takes you down to the beach where you enter through an amazing arched tunnel. The staff was very accommodating and the hotel location central to dining, shopping and nightlife - all in walking distance. Our junior suite king room with a balcony was also perfection. A gorgeous and large bathroom with shower and bathtub as well as separate double sink area. excellent closet and dressing areas and a beautiful view of both the sea and town of Sorrento. I cannot wait to stay there again!

Excellent hotel - across the board - location, hotel layout and location, rooms, amenities, food and service. Great spot for sea swimming and great pool. Amazing views of Capri and Vesuvius over water. None of us wanted to leave (and we were heading to Capri! :) I would certainly return to this hotel anytime and highly recommend.

This hotel is an oasis of calm and space in a very crowded city. swimming platform to the ocean was a delight never crowded with bar service. The pool area was lovely also never crowded in late June. Restaurants are excellent with stunning sunset views. Walk to the main town Square and all the shops. Hotel recommended a private boat that worked out very well. Worth the price to get on the water and have direct access to swim in my opinion rather than going to a public very crowded swimming area. Rooms are old fashioned glamour so some may think needs updating. Would definitely stay here again.
