My family and I stayed at Maroma over Thanksgiving week and could not have had a better experience. For context, we have stayed at highly-rated, five-star beach resorts in Maui, Cabo, Punta Mita, California and Florida. Maroma is--bar none--the finest beach resort we have ever experienced. We will definitely return. Each interaction with the staff, whether big or small, was marked with warmth, care and attention to detail. Our primary personal host, Carlos, was kind and attentive to every request, especially when we asked if the main restaurant, Casa Mayor, could prepare an off-menu, family-style dinner for us one evening. He and his team made a point to check in with us at least daily to make sure everything was going well and that we did not have any needs. Speaking of Casa Mayor, it is a wonderful spot for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The staff recognized us by name after our first visit and made a point to always have our preferred table ready when we entered (we never requested this). The servers had a level of attentiveness and intuitiveness that would normally be associated only with a 2 or 3 star Michelin restaurant--this at a casual, open-air restaurant. Often the all-day dining spots at resorts are boring, bland affairs, but Casa Mayor provides a premium experience at each meal of the day. The second restaurant, Woodend, is open only for dinner. The staff there were just as warm and attentive. The food was very good as well, but some people may find the menu a bit limited, as compared to Casa Mayor. This was no bother to us and we quite enjoyed our two dinners at Woodend. While Maroma has a nice pool, this is really a beach resort and fortunately the beach attendants are first class. Each attendant knew us by name and made sure that our chairs were set up with towels and chilled water at the beginning of each day. They made routine (but not intrusive) visits to drop off complimentary tropical drinks and snacks, and to make make sure we didn't need any other food or drink items. Once they confirmed that we preferred to have our lounge chairs in the shade, they watched the sun/shade line like hawks and swooped in to adjust our umbrellas within moments of the sun's position changing. We several times noted how amazing their timing was in this regard. Is it absolutely necessary to have this level of attention on the beach? No. But it is one of many small details that add up to make Maroma a top notch resort. As for the beach itself, the sand was cool to the touch even in the afternoon heat, the water was clear most days (aside from a couple where strong winds caused a bit of cloudiness), and the water temperature was perfect. I understand that sea**** can be an issue in the area in some parts of the year, but it was nearly non-existent during our November stay. The beach activity station provided complimentary wake surfing boards and paddle boards. Snorkeling, scuba, and Hobie Cat tours are available for reasonable

El hotel está bastante bien, pero tenga una queja que quiero comentar porque nos ha pasado a las 3 parejas que venimos. Y es que como la habitación no esté impecable NO TE LA HACEN. En mi caso la excusa es que habían demasiados aparatos electrónicos cargándose. Que tendrá que ver esto para hacer la cama, limpiar el aseo, cambiar las toallas o rellenar el mini bar. Como digo nos ha pasado a las tres habitaciones en el mismo viaje por distintos motivos. Parece que lo tienen por costumbre. Y el hotel no es barato para estas tonterías

El hotel es precioso, la decoración cuidada hasta el último detalle. La playa muy buena, tranquila y limpísima. El personal muy amable y siempre pendiente de todo. Los restaurantes buenísimos. Es perfecto para descansar y disfrutar de la playa.

Hospedarnos aquí fue la mejor decisión que pudimos tomar. Desde nuestra llegada todo lo que recibimos fueron buenas atenciones. El staff te brinda un servicio muy personalizado y siempre están dispuestos a ayudarte en lo que necesites. Después de la renovación, encontramos las instalaciones como nuevas! La comida deliciosa, los tragos muy originales, pero lo que más nos gustó fue el aroma que identifica al hotel ! Sin duda saben cómo qued**** en tu corazón ❤️

Sublime. La mejor atención que he recibido en toda mi vida. Gracias a nuestro mayordomo Guillermo por hacer la estancia única y sin ninguna preocupación. Se respira paz en cada rincón del hotel y playa. He de resaltar la comida del restaurante, calidad premium y platos exquisitos. Volveré sin duda. MIL GRACIAS

After visiting the Belmond Splendido in Portofino last summer, we were determined to explore more Belmond properties. Maroma exceeded our expectations. Every employee was warm, welcoming, and made our stay extremely comfortable and relaxing. The rooms were authentic and luxurious. We had an ocean front room, and every afternoon I swung in the hammock taking in all of the beauty surrounding after spending time on the beach. We will 100% be returning. The attention to detail at Maroma is like nothing you've ever seen. The staff treated us like royalty! Food and beverages were delicious, and the spa is out-of-this-world. We will return!
