The property is immaculate and feels swanky. Loved the glass of champagne upon arrival. Didn't love that we specifically asked for our two rooms to be near each other when booking only to find out they were on opposite sides of the property. We had to get manager approval for a room switch. AND, they wanted to charge us until we complained about that. The rooms themselves are nice, the pool/pool bar is fun and the VIP beach section is relaxing.
The restaurants are so-so. Not bad, just not great. The two best were Mexican for dinner (yummy marinated steak) and the breakfast buffet which weirdly was far and away the standout for food and service (Freddy was awesome!). Nightlife is also meh (at the resort, we didn't try anything outside of the resort).
The absolute best thing about the resort is the staff. They are outstanding. They really went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable.
The few things that could be improved are:
1. When I'm checking in, do not try to sell me a timeshare under the ruse that you are "showing me a brochure about your other hotels".
2. The food at most of the establishments needs tweaking to go from good to great and from great to excellent. Overall, it was disappointing.
3. Communication regarding daily activities is extremely poor. They rely way too heavily on the app to do this for them. We saw one sign with a list, but it's location is easily missed. No heads up was given on property other than for pool aerobics. Disappointing.
