A beautiful hotel and grounds with very comfortable rooms - spacious and beautifully furnished. The staff were very nice and moved us to a ground floor room as my husband is disabled. The food was exceptional, and I had the same meal twice for dinner because it was so scrumptious! The spa pool is lovely with hot jets and a whirlpool and lots of gym equipment. Altogether a great experience, and we look forward to returning to any of the Devonshire hotels.

We had a three night stay with another couple to celebrate 2 birthdays. The reception staff were welcoming and we were happy with the location of our room which was comfortable but the bathroom was tired and in need of refurbishment It was impossible to use the shower without soaking the floor.We ate in the brasserie on 2 occasions and in the Burlington restaurant on one. The food was of a high standard and in general the service at dinner was very good although towards the end of the tasting menu in the Burlington it was obvious that our waiter was in a rush to finish and get home. Our experience at breakfast left something to be desired. There appeared to be ample serving staff but service was extremely slow and somewhat chaotic with a wait of close to an hour for our cooked dishes and several reminders for coffee and tea. Overall we enjoyed our stay and the setting is beautiful with many walks close by. Would happily recommend it but would hope that others receive more attentive service at breakfast.

What a super time we have had on our second visit to this hotel. The staff especially Warren and Attila can’t do enough for you with their superb service. The Burlington is a very worthy restaurant and is comparable to any famous chef’s cuisine, a fusion of delicious flavours and some extra surprises. We like The Artist room with its numerous pictures. First time here experiencing an afternoon tea treat. Such a lovely experience, delicious food, drinks and very friendly and attentive staff. Amazing hotel and beautiful grounds, we also had a walk along the river to Bolton Abbey. Highly recommended, would love to come back for a hotel stay next!

The staff just make this beautiful hotel. From the rooms to the surroundings this place is my favourite! Food fantastic. Breakfast fantastic. It's simply stunning. I really can't recommend it enough. Gorgeous everything!! No stuffiness just fantastic all round .

Our stay at The Devonshire Arms was exceptional. Everything was as near perfect as it could be. The positivity, professionalism and passion of ALL the staff we encountered was a credit to the group. From check in to departure we could not find fault with any single aspect. When we booked we baulked at the americanisation of tipping in advance but on reflection found it to be a sensible solution to a complex situation. We had not realised that guided tours were on offer and had planned our day around exploring independently so when the opportunity to be taken around the estate by Jane presented itself we snapped it up. To find out we were the only ones only added to what we both described as a thoroughly entertaining and informative three hours. Jane typified all that was good about your hotel. Her friendliness, passion, depth of knowledge and positivity were a delight and certainly the highlight of the trip. Well done management and staff of the Devonshire Arms Hotel and Spa
