We had stayed at the Devonshire felt once before, and as we were due to fly on holiday, the next day from Leeds Bradford, we thought we would treat ourselves and have a stay over the night before at the Devonshire fell. On arrival, we were greeted by friendly check-in staff who allocated us our room, but when we opened the door, we could not believe what we’d been allocated! I’m not sure if there had been a cancellation and we just got lucky, but whatever the reason, we were so incredibly grateful. We were put in Room 5, the Threshfield Room and it rendered us speechless! The biggest, comfiest bed, a separate lounge area with sofa and additional tv and 2 full bathrooms. I could honestly have forfeited our holiday away and stayed there a week! The decor and furnishings are tastefully put together and classical meets modern harmonised beautifully. The view over the front to the river and Dales beyond, the artwork on the walls and the small touches like the beautiful toiletries, fluffy robes, the biscuits and coffee machine all added to the luxury of the stay. We were booked in for dinner and breakfast and both meals were superb as was the service. The full English breakfast could not be beaten. There is a long list to choose from and you pick whatever you would like and it comes freshly cooked an piping hot. This is a much better idea than a buffet and no doubt means much less wasted food. It’s not cheap to stay here but as a special treat it is pure luxury. We only have one small comment to make and that was the carpet did not appear to have been hoovered and there were dog hairs, mud and biscuit crumbs but as this room was far superior to the one we thought we were getting, we are not in a position to complain but perhaps if you’d paid to have that room and then found the carpet like that you may not have been happy. It could have been an oversight perhaps or the hoover was broken but a definite housekeeping mishap. It would not stop us from staying at this hotel again, it is fabulous.

Had a lovely relaxing overnight stay here, we where greeted as soon as we arrived & decided to have a drink outside in the garden before we went to our room, the view was amazing & sittjng there with such an amazing view we soon felt very relaxed. The bar area and seating area is with a mixture of relaxing & colourful decor. The rooms are spacious & clean & we found great value for money. The room that we stayed in was a twin room with a bath & a shower. A bottle of fresh water, biscuits & coffee machine where also in the room. The evening meal was lovely with a good mixture of different courses. We really enjoyed our stay & would recommend this place if you want a relaxing stay.

Excellent stay at this hotel The views are stunning and the surrounding area is beautiful! The staff could not do enough for you both at the hotel and the spa at the Dovonshire arms. Breakfast was also excellent Would definitely recommend and will look forward to staying again soon

We were very disappointed with the room/broom cupboard - Room 7 having paid upfront - £259 for what we thought was going to be a lovely palatial spacious room with views of the stunning scenery, as advertised on their website.Iinstead we were allocated a broom cupboard looking out over the car park! The food was ok-ish not as good as expected given the 2 star AA rosette rating. Breakfast was average, my gluten-free bacon sandwich was dry - no butter - dry bread no effort to impress. We would not rush to go back.

We are a group of friends who live locally to the Fell Hotel. The food was very poor and no better than a pub chain. The service was good We were informed at 10.15 as we having coffee that we had to leave at 10.30 as they would be closing. Obviously the staff were on a mission to finish up Felt very rushed and not a relaxing end to the evening A shame, as living locally we would support regularly if the standard was improved .

Great location, stunning views and really friendly staff. The breakfast was superb and service quick and efficient. The rooms are good, comfortable and clean. The only thing we were a little disappointed by was the evening didning/menu. As with the other hotels in this group the evening menu was shown on the TV screen in the room. So we had a scroll through and made our choices. When we got down to the bar we were presented with a bit of paired back bar food type menu on a piece of paper which didn't match any of that. Fish 'n Chips, Burgers, Steak, Macaroni cheese etc. So there was no choice of the a la carte menu shown in the room. I can only guesss that this was a group wide menu that isn't offered at this hotel (..?) but we weren't made aware of that. All the diners were put into a conservatory rather than the restuarant (which was empty) This made it all feel a bit 'pub meal' rather than hotel dining and maybe it was just about convenience for the hotel rather than us. We probably wouldn't have booked in to eat there if we'd have known that. The food and eating experience just wasn't up to hotel standards/prices.
