le pire restaurant de la ville de Sion . un accueil digne d'un bouiboui . deux traine savate , d'une nonchalance hallucinante pour vous servir, sans doute engagé à l'heure , capable tout de même entre deux plats, de rester planté au bar entre eux. une fondue "neptune" - soit : du poisson , quelques crevettes , 6 , 3 noix de saint-jacques , quelques morceaux de poisson indéfini taillé en vrac, posé sur un plat en plastic du pire effet , genre traiteur de seconde zone , le tout noyé de salade pour cacher la misère. en accompagnement ; un bar à sauce limite. bref : à fuir ! et le tout pour fr. 66.- pour deux. / nous n'avons bu que de l'eau. dessert inexistant. en plus d une salle très mal aérée . si vous voulez être sûr de puer le graillon de friture, allez-y !

Made a reservation for 2 rooms at this hotel at 2:34pm in the afternoon and then learned that a major snow storm would prevent us from continuing to our final destination. So we cancelled the reservation at 3:12pm (38 minutes later) and were charged the full cost of both rooms. I understand a no-cancellation policy. But honestly, did a 38-minute reservation really cost them anything? I would never stay at this hotel or recommend it to anyone.

Avevamo la necessità di dormire una notte a Sion e per quella data l'unico hotel che offriva una camera quadrupla (due figlie ancora non indipendenti) era questo. Non eravamo totalmente convinti ma dalle recensioni e qualche foto, abbiamo pensato che per una notte sarebbe andato bene. Esperienza che non rifarei! L'hotel è situato in un'ottima posizione e dalla camera è bello vedere il castello. Per quanto mi riguarda le cose positive finisco qui. L'auto è stato possibile lasciarla nel parcheggio della Coop e da li raggiungere l'ascensore tramite una porta che ti accoglie in un sotterraneo sporco e maleodorante (c'era una forte puzza di acido dovuta alla presenza di un pomodoro vecchio, e nelle scale parte dell'insegna), la reception. Dopo il check in, effettuato da una ragazza estremamente gentile, bisognava prendere nuovamente l' ascensore per raggiungere la camera. La camera, anche se spaziosa, non brillava per pulizia. Il bagno sembrava rimasto indietro agli anni '70. Vetusto e poco pulito il fondo del water. Decidiamo di farci piacere il tutto per una notte, ma al rientro in hotel , la sera, dopo una cena fuori, ce ne siamo pentiti: Nelle lenzuola del nostro letto abbiamo trovato dei capelli, i cuscini erano sottili ed era come non averli. Le cervicali hanno ringraziato, al mattino (abbiamo dormito poco e male). Impossibile far notare alla reception il tutto, in quanto non era presente nessuno a quell'orario. Puntiamo alla colazione per far rialzare la media: Delusione. Il buffet era praticamente stato saccheggiato e non più rifornito. I tavoli poco puliti e la ragazza (gentilissima) che ci ha servito il cappuccino e le due cioccolate (buoni) era veramente sciatta, con il grembiule sporco e in pantaloncini??? Bah! Saremo sbagliati, non so...ma non ci siamo proprio. Non chiediamo alta hotellerie ma neanche roba da ostello di terz'ordine!

Mittagessen mit Reservation um 13.15. Der Service war sehr unfreundlich und hat uns sehr gestresst. Wir haben Fondue Chinoise gegessen und mussten dies in 1 h fertig gegessen haben da sie um halb 3 das Restaurant schliessen würden. Für Kaffee oder Dessert hat es nicht mehr gereicht.

We stayed at the Hotel du Rhone for several nights, in the triple room which was a very decent sized room and a welcome change from most of our recent hotel rooms. This is a more traditional hotel room with a large attached bathroom, complete with bathtub (+Shower) and a bidet alongside the toilet. We had a room with a good view out to the Rhone valley, and the Chateau de Valere up on the hill - which was lit up at night. There wasn't any air conditioning but for some reason the hotel room remained relatively cool, although we had to open the window to let the cooler air in - at night, this meant that we could hear noise from the street, and in the early morning, the road construction crew sometimes woke us up with their machinery. Obviously this is only a temporary issue but visitors should bear this in mind in the hotter summer months. The beds were comfortable and everything was provided for, there is also a restaurant attached to this hotel although we did not try it. An easy and excellent breakfast can be had only a short stroll away at one of many cafes in Sion's old town. Very well located, right at the edge of the old town, and only about a 15 min walk to the train station. WiFi was decent, and there was also a sizeable safe provided for valuables and laptops. They also provided a kettle and some tea making equipment (as well as a variety of teabags). Definitely ticked most of our boxes!

We reserved a triple room to have some space and weren’t disappointed. A couple of issues were resolved quickly. Importantly the beds were comfortable and breakfast plentiful. Possibly the best cappuccino in Sion!. If you have a big car, we found the entrance to the underground car park daunting. However there is a much bigger car park literally the either side of the road. Really well placed for visiting Sion, and has one of the few restaurants open on a Sunday evening. We’ll stay again when we return
