The staff was not at all welcoming or friendly on arrival which I found surprising because I had heard Denmark is rated as the happiest country in the world. There was a bit of a language barrier maybe compounded by my ears being plugged due to our long flight in from the US, perhaps Americans are not welcome in Denmark. I was instructed to place a parking placard on my dashboard for parking in the lot. I did have it there but on a sunny afternoon I took it off the dashboard and placed it on the passenger seat because it was causing a reflection on the windshield that created a blind spot when looking for on coming traffic on the right. I forgot to place it back on the dashboard so a couple days later I got 2 tickets, totaling $250 which I had to try to pay before catching my flight out of Denmark the next day. Fortunately some Danish friends explained how to handle it through the banking system there. When I had a chance to talk to the clerks who were at the reception desk they thought I would probably get a refund but the next morning, when checking out the supervisor was said no refund and she was very cross. The hotel was in a nice setting and clean enough but I would not recommend it based on the reception being very unwelcoming and the ticket situation so disturbing.
